Wow - what an incredible first CSP event with . Where do I begin to tell this story that the pictures don’t? Here goes: The event was nothing but class and professionalism from our owners and sponsors to the staff at CSP. Also a huge shout out to and Linda Tarpo (local host) for an amazing stay. LAXtreme teams: Prime, Premier and Masters all showed we are to be respected and not taken lightly for a new franchise. 4 events left in the season with Dallas next on the schedule.

I played pretty well but results were mixed. Played 6 matches - went 2-4. Good news game record was 6-7 and DUPR went up .2 ! What that tells you is the level of competition was very high. Not often do you lose and increase your DUPR. But it also says the losses were quality loses. (those that know me are laughing)

Biggest takeaways:
1. Be ready for anything
2. Paddle up and be ready
3. Nothing beats experience with new opponents and partners
4. Reflect and review areas to improve
5. Love and embrace every minute

Well it’s official and I am really looking forward to this season of professional pickleball. Two months of practice and preparation followed by 4 months of competition. Plenty of opportunities for family, friends and followers to come along for the ride so stay tuned. What a team we have!!

ATTENTION TENNIS PLAYERS - FIX THIS ONE THING AND WATCH YOUR GAME GROW!
I have been teaching pickleball for 6+ years with many of my students achieving national honors in their age and skill brackets. A high percentage of my students have been former tennis players and I LOVE THAT. You bring a tremendous amount of useful skills to this wonderful game of Pickleball. You also bring some skills that work against you. There is one very basic skill, in my opinion, that if you correct you can surpass 4.5 level fairly quickly. Do you want to know what that is?

CHILDHOOD CANCER SUCKS…can I get an amen to that? We are in the quarterfinals of this competition and we ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. If we do what we have been doing, voting and donating, we can go on to the semi finals. Lets go pickleballers and others and lets put an ol fashion kick in the butt into Childhood Cancer. Your vote and donations really matter.

At almost 68(trying to not say 6…7 - lol) I believe in the concept of healthspan vs lifespan. Live a healthy long life then pass quickly.
