Thank you fellas for some of the best moments of my life over the last 6 years 🙏 crazy to think today was the last ride.

Forever grateful to the Maxeys and the Chatanis in more ways than I can express. What we’ve built now attracts some of the best talent in the country, but you guys were there when this was just a few cones and an idea. Nothing but love for you guys.

At this point you know what to expect 🙂 this is what a training and playing methodology looks like. Same as the 2010s, 2012s, and 2015s.

When you zoom out, it’s always about the bigger picture.

What I see:

Understanding of principles, time, space.

Receiving the ball with correct body shape, with either foot, with intention in relation to space.

Growing understanding off-the-ball in order to effect the ball carrier. Movements to collaborate, not just movements to receive the ball.

Composure on the ball and technical executions to break pressure.

The ability and growing decision making to eliminate a player on the dribble

And most importantly, an ability to interpret situations collectively, not using touches for the sake of using touches, but consistently “solving”. This isn’t a “system” (a word that frauds use as a cop out to justify an inability to teach)

It’s the same thing I see in all of my teams. Win or lose, we will always have another chance at the “competition” side of this sport,

But the most important part, which is evident by our growing success rate with professional academies, is that our players are being well equipped to thrive when they LEAVE the program.

They have a technical “bag” and IQ able to mold and adapt to their next environment, which is whole point right?

Silva Select is just a small step in their longer journey. As a humble servant to their development, it’s about prepping them for what comes next and the standard with which they’ll be held to, not about reactionary decisions to win a piece of plastic from Trophies Express
