Part 2 of the MedX medical mission trip videos at the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 MedX Medical Programs
The Pre-PA Society went on a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic under MedX on August 17th-21st. We had the opportunity to shadow physicians across multiple specialties such as OB/GYN, Maxillofacial Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, and so much more.
We also volunteered at a boys orphanage and played games with them. Additionally, we went on community runs and took vitals of those interested such as BP, pulse/ox, glucose, etc. We also attended suture, and phlebotomy workshops. It was an amazing experience and we look forward to the next mission trip with MedX! MedX Medical Programs

We are having our first volunteer opportunity on September 12th, 2026 at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore!
We will be helping with:
processing donations, preparing items for sale, pricing donations, loading/unloading donation trucks, cleaning & organizing sales floor.
WHEN: Saturday, September 12th, 2026 @ 9:00am-1:00pm

Hello Pre-PA members,
We have a new volunteer opportunity for Saturday, November 7th, 2026 with the Immune Deficiency Foundation for the Tampa Walk for PI event that is hosted at Zoo Tampa!
The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) is an organization that aims to improve the lives of individuals living with primary immunodeficiency (PI) and the “Walk for PI” event in Tampa serves both as a fundraising and awareness-raising effort!
At this event, we will be assisting with check in/registration, t-shirts, helping sponsors find their tables/carry their supplies, walk route cheerleaders, walk route sign collection at the end of the walk, or someone to be the Zebra mascot.
Once the fundraising event is over, you will still have admission to the zoo all day and parking is free!
WHEN: Saturday, November 7th, 2026 @ 6:00am - 10:00am
WHERE: Zoo Tampa at Lowry Park- 1101 W Sligh Ave, Tampa, FL

There has been an update to the Summer 2026 Pre-PA Society Shadowing Program application deadline.

We went to the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA) annual Symposium in Daytona. There was a Pre-PA event where PA program faculty members were sharing information, and tips about CASPA, the personal statement, supplemental essays, and CVs/resumes. There were also mock interviews by PA Program faculty from all over Florida including USF, UT, FSU, FIU, etc. We also got to meet, and network with Pre-PAs from all over Florida. It was an amazing experience full of insight, and ease knowing what is expected of Pre-PA students when applying to PA programs.
