DOUBLE MEMBER EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Woooo!!

Hey Alchemy Members--- just making sure that you were in the know about upcoming "Members Only" events happening this month!! These events are at no-cost to attend, and they are only for active membership holders. We love our community!! Both events require registration at alchemyclimbing.com/events

The first event is our Member Movie Night (and popcorn) happening on 07/19 at 7:30PM. We will be serving popcorn and showing three climbing/adventure documentaries!! We'll be set up in the fitness room with some seating available, but please feel free to bring a crashpad or a camping chair to sit on if you'd like.

The second event is our Member Ice Cream Social!! We all scream for ice cream!! This one takes place on 07/26 from 4:30-6:30PM! We will bring the goodies, you just bring yourself!!

Both events are Members Only!! Our members rock!!!

Behold-- the Edelrid Boa Eco 2r 9.6, we have 40m (for typical gym use,) and the 60m for the standard outdoor length. This is a robust all around climbing rope using recycled content reducing the environment impact. 🌎 Shout outs to EDELRID for being amazing!!

::Alchemy in the Wild::

We just LOVED this submission for Alchemy in the Wild! For starters, it's Gianmarco! Gianmarco is the kind and compassionate photographer from our recent Blockbuster Boulder Bash competition - we absolutely loved his photos and are soo grateful to have him in our community! But, one of the other really cool aspects of this submission is knowing that Gianmarco had made a New Year's Resolution to climb outside for the first time... and this was the moment!! Wooo!! Soo exciting.

So, he made the trip out to Colorado! Here's what he had to say about it:

"About the trip, I went to Colorado for 10 days and got to do some outdoor bouldering and sport climbing. One day, I went to a gym in Golden and asked for directions to the nearest boulders. A staff member pointed me toward Clear Creek Canyon and mentioned that the trail had a bunch of problems scattered throughout it.

I spent a couple of a hours there and ended up sending a few problems on boulders called the Fridge With No Name and the Long Boulder. The whole area was beautiful and way bigger than I expected. Definitely could have used another crash pad and a lot more snacks.

For the sport climbing portion, I went to Garden of the Gods and climbed Montezuma Tower and Red Twin Rock with a local guide. Both routes were awesome! There were people nearby cheering and taking pictures as we climbed, which made the whole thing feel surreal. Felt like a celebrity and a zoo animal at the same time. Best part of all of it was rappelling back down to the ground. "

I asked him what the name of the route was in his picture from Garden of the Gods- he said, "That one would be at the summit of Montezuma Tower. The route is called North Ridge. That picture was taken shortly after we finished the last pitch of the route. The view of the park from the top was truly something else."

SUCH great pictures. Amazing first outdoor climbs! Well done, Gianmarco! You look soo genuinely happy. Love that feeling of accomplishing something big. You rock. I'll get these added to our map walls in the hall.
