👏🏻 Spurs 👏🏻 are 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 speed 👏🏻

Horses HAVE to first learn to respect your bare heel.

Spurs are for collection, bending, and to get another level of softness. They are not to encourage speed or to be used as punishment.

Colts don’t need to learn to bend and collect for at least 8 rides or until they can follow their nose and all three gaits and stop off your seat. Brakes and gas pedal first! Then your steering wheel.

🐴 Joey Update!💙

Yesterday, our sweet boy Joey got some very special shoes to help support his torn suspensory ligament and, most importantly, help keep him as comfortable as possible.

Joey’s injury is an old one, but we’re doing everything we can to give his leg the support it needs and help him live the happiest, most comfortable life possible. These special shoes are another step in his ongoing care, and we’re hopeful they will make a difference for him.

A HUGE thank you to T's Farrier Service for taking such great care of Joey and helping us give him the best chance at staying comfortable. We are so grateful for the people who go above and beyond for our rescue horses!

Please keep Joey in your thoughts as he adjusts to his new shoes! 🐴💙
