Julia joined the Gordon Family YMCA hoping to improve her health and feel stronger for herself and her family. Over the past year, she’s built new friendships, rediscovered her confidence, and reached a goal she first set in high school by bench pressing 100 pounds.

Her story is a reminder that progress happens one step at a time. Read how Julia found strength, support, and a community that encouraged her to keep showing up: https://www.ymcapkc.org/blog/julias-journey-back-strength-ymca

This summer, Erza and Riga from YMCA Kosovo joined the YMCA Camp Seymour team to learn everything they could before helping launch the first YMCA overnight camp program in their home country.

Along the way, they've led campers through songs and activities, shared a traditional Albanian scarf dance, and discovered that camp creates the same sense of belonging no matter where you are in the world.

Their story is a reminder that the YMCA's mission reaches far beyond our own communities, and that we're all stronger when we learn from each other.
