We were originally scheduled to hold tryouts this weekend, but we have decided to cancel tryouts and not move forward with a fall season.
With the number of teams competing this fall, the start of the school year, and the NYS Fair, we feel this is the best decision for our athletes and families.
Instead, throughout the fall we will be offering:
• Camps
• Small-group training
• Full-group training
This will give our athletes an opportunity to continue developing and staying in the gym without the commitment of a full fall season.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support.
Our next girls’ tryouts will be held this winter! We hope to see you there!
More information on our fall training opportunities and winter tryouts will be coming soon. 💪🏽🏀

🏀 GymRat Challenge Recap 💜
Another weekend in the books, and we couldn’t be prouder of our girls.
GymRat challenged us in every way possible. We faced talented competition, experienced highs and lows, and most importantly, continued to grow. Our athletes showed tremendous progress—not just physically, but mentally as well. Their communication improved, their confidence grew, and they continued to compete with resilience and heart.
One of our favorite moments happened away from the court. We took a trip to Build-A-Bear, where the girls worked together to make two bears as a team. It was a chance to laugh, bond, and create memories that will last far longer than any basketball game.
At ASA, we believe development goes beyond the scoreboard. We’re building confident athletes, strong teammates, and young leaders who know how to support one another on and off the court.
To our players: Thank you for trusting the process.
To our parents: Thank you for your support all weekend.
And to everyone who cheered us on: We appreciate you!
We’ll celebrate the growth, learn from the lessons, and get right back to work.
Trust the Work. See them next year 😈

Yesterday was bigger than basketball. 💜🏀
ASA had the honor of hosting two programs—one from Ithaca and one from Syracuse—for a joint training session and scrimmage. Over 30 athletes came together to compete, learn, and grow.
The best part wasn’t the final score—it was watching players from different teams encourage one another, make new friendships, and push each other to be better.
A huge thank you to both coaching staffs for trusting Love Nicholson to pour into your athletes. I know my coaching style isn’t for everyone. I’m energetic, demanding, and I hold players accountable because I believe in their potential. Thank you for allowing me to coach authentically.
One of the biggest lessons from yesterday:
Your coach isn’t hard on you because they don’t care. They’re stern because they care enough to refuse to let you settle for less than you’re capable of becoming.
Iron sharpens iron. That’s exactly what happened yesterday.
Thank you again for trusting ASA with your athletes. We can’t wait to do it again.
