1965 Evinrude 9.5 hp 2 stroke, short shaft.
We have cleaned the points and tested the coils. New spark plugs and flushed the fuel system. It also has a new impeller, gear oil and drain plug seals.
We also ended up replacing the lower unit with a good used one. The driveshaft was frozen/rusted in the crank and it came out if the lower. The driveshaft tops some work to get out. We left it yesterday and got back on it this morning. Rick and myself tried to free it up and worked it back and forth and side to side then Terry and myself locked the puller on it, and worked together to get it freed up and out.
Cleaned it up and cleaned the crank splines out with the old driveshaft. When we went to reinstall it in the lower unit the lower plate and bushing was moving. We lifted it out, short version “ it is broken” out to the bone yard and found a lower, checked the shifting on it, felt good. Removed it, brought it in, cleaned it up, drained the gear oil, it looked dirty but ok. Cleaned everything up, Fresh gear oil, new drain and vent seals, new impeller and then we reinstalled it making sure it slipped into the crank smoothly. Put it in a test tank, hooked fuel to it and pulled it twice, fired right up. Ran it for a bit. Got some videos and tested shifting, pees great and runs smooth. Idles well, revs up and the motor mounts are in pretty good shape on this one.
Tim cleaned it up and we are listing a t for $350 obo . Comes with a 60 day warranty on all work that we performed on it.
