Hard to believe this trip, riding down Pacific Highway in CA, was 5 years ago and that Silver has been with me for 6+ years. 🏍️❤️
I bought her during the pandemic, a few months after I helped my father go to heaven. At the time, I had been without Ruby, the Softail I rode for 17 years (who I never thought I’d be without), for three years. Being bike-less was HARD for me..
My mother, who was scared to death the day I rode Ruby off the lot in 2000, told me:
“Michelle, you gotta ride. Go find Ruby’s replacement TODAY.”
So I did and… she was right.
Ruby helped get me sober and keep me sober.
Silver helped me grieve and reclaim myself.
Now, as I care for my mother, I’ve considered selling Silver. But Mom has made her position VERY clear:
“Don’t you dare!! I will be so mad at you if you do!” 😂
So I’ve made a commitment to myself to ride her super locally and conservatively in this season of my life.
There will be time for Silver and me to take the big, long rides.
One day, I plan to ship her to Dublin and ride through Europe all the way to Sicily. 🇮🇪🏍️🇮🇹
For now, the journey looks different.
Because happiness is a journey.
Some days, it’s a long ride on the open road.
Other days, and perhaps more often, that journey happens somewhere between your heart and your head.
Travel wisely.
Choose happy. ❤️
