When the tuna go deep in that mid day sun a jig is a highly effective way to present to those fishing holding deep. The E-Rod combined with today’s micro electric reels is a highly effective way to quickly run and gun for deep water schools giving you a fast deployment on a moving school. And all without the normal exhaustion of jigging that deep at speed. In this video we used the E-Rod Patriot combined the new sb g500 j reel, 40lb test and a 280 gram jig.

This small grouper was a floater with barotrauma. That we caught while deep water jigging. Always wondered if these barometric releases really do much as you never know what’s happening after you send them down. Conditions were right to catch some proof today on the sounder.
