Every year, before we officially kick off a new dance season, there is someone behind the scenes making sure our studio is ready for our dancers and that is my husband, Rob. He spends hours buffing the floors and giving them a true heavy duty cleaning so our dancers can walk into a fresh, clean studio and start the season off right. It may seem like a small thing to some, but I know just how much time and effort goes into it. And the truth is, this is just one of the MANY things he does for me and for Dance Xhilaration. He is constantly helping, fixing, supporting my crazy ideas, and doing whatever needs to be done to help make this studio the best it can be. So much of what he does happens behind the scenes and probably goes unnoticed by most people, but it never goes unnoticed by me. I see it. I appreciate it. And I am so incredibly grateful for him. Rob, thank you for always supporting me, believing in my dreams, and loving this studio and these dancers right alongside me. Dance Xhilaration wouldn’t be what it is without all of the things you do behind the scenes.

Here’s to another season, another freshly buffed floor, and another year of making memories with our dancers! 🩰✨

A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR INCREDIBLE GUEST ARTISTS!

This summer at Dance Xhilaration, our dancers had the amazing opportunity to learn from some truly talented guest artists who came into the studio and shared not only their incredible talent, but their passion, knowledge, and love for the arts. ❤️

Every class was an opportunity for our dancers to step outside of their comfort zones, learn new styles, be inspired, and grow as artists. We are so grateful to each and every guest artist who took the time to pour into our dancers and make this summer so special!

Thank you for sharing your artistry, your energy, your experiences, and most importantly, your PASSION with our students. You have made an impact that goes far beyond the classroom, and we are so thankful! 🫶🏼

The excitement for the 2027 competition season is officially underway at Dance Xhilaration!

We are so excited to see all of the hard work, creativity, and passion that this season will bring. Here’s a shoutout to Laurel for being the first soloist to have her routine completed!

This is only the beginning, and we are so excited to see more solos, duos, trios, and group routines come together in the weeks ahead. The countdown to competition season starts now! 🩵💛🖤

Most dance teachers and studio owners know what it feels like to choose a path that other people did not always understand.

Some of us grew up hearing, “That’s a nice hobby, but what are you really going to do?” We heard about becoming a doctor, a lawyer, an accountant, or choosing something “safe.” And while all of those professions are worthy, for some of us, dance was not a hobby. It was the thing that made us feel most alive.

Choosing dance as a profession takes courage. Not because it is easy, but because it asks a lot from us. It asks for our time, our creativity, our patience, our bodies, our hearts, and sometimes our own confidence when the world does not fully understand what we do.

But the truth is: teaching dance is not just teaching the movement. It is helping a quiet child find their voice. It is giving a young person a place to belong. It is teaching discipline, respect, teamwork, resilience, courage, and the joy of working toward something bigger than yourself.

And for the studio owners, it is not just running a business. It is building a home for young people, families, teachers, and communities. It is creating a place where music, movement, mentorship, and life lessons come together.

So to every dance teacher and studio owner who once had to defend this choice, I hope you stand a little taller today. You did not choose “just dance.” You chose to pass on an art form. You chose to inspire young people. You chose to make a difference in a way that may never fully show up on a score sheet, a trophy, or a bank statement.

That is a life’s work worth being proud of.
