Henry Connect Route 1 operates a fixed-route public bus service connecting downtown McDonough and downtown Stockbridge. The route serves McDounough Square, Piedmont Henry Hospital, Stockbridge City Hall & Amphitheater, and the Stockbridge Xpress Park-&-Ride Lot. The routes leaves the McDonough Square taking Jonesboro Rd to Oak Grove Rd to Jodeco Rd to Patrick Henry Pkwy to Rock Quarry Rd to North Henry Blvd to the GRTA Express Bus location at I-75 and then circle back to the McDonough Square!

The plot thickens with kidnapping charges filed against Big Tiggers estranged wife. š³š³š³
The estranged wife of Atlanta radio host Big Tigger was arrested Monday along Interstate 85 in northeast Georgia during a traffic stop on kidnapping charges out of
Maryland.
Alicia Denise Brown, 37, of Atlanta, was taken into custody during a traffic stop. According to the Hart County Sheriffās Office, deputies received an alert about the car traveling north on the interstate. Deputies pulled over the vehicle near Exit 177 along with Georgia State Patrol troopers.
The woman and two young children were taken into custody. No one was injured.
TMZ reports one of the two young children is shared by Brown and Big Tigger.

UPDATE: As of 3:15 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) has lifted the Boil Water Advisory issued on July 6, 2026, for customers in Southeast Henry County.

Vote Marcye Scott TODAY to continue the legacy of her father, Congressman David Scott, and ensure that Henry and Clayton County receive the millions of federal dollars he fought to bring to District 13. My vision for the Stockbridge July 4th Extravaganza was a journey after initially being rejected by the city multiple times.
It was rejected primarily because the city had never done an event on the holiday and honestly political reasons that we have overcome working together. However, I pressed on relentlessly pushing the event yearly knowing the day would produce the epic celebration we saw come to fruition over the weekendā¼ļøSpearheading events like July 4th Extravaganza is my passion because it brings people together! Never give up on your dreams! ā¤ļø
The Stockbridge July 4th Extravaganza was the largest event in the history of the city of Stockbridge with an estimated 15,000 to 16,000 people coming through the festival and the concert throughout the day according to Stockbridge Fire Chief, Demetrius Wells. This does not count the thousands of residents who lined Hwy 138, East Atlanta Rd, MLK Sr. Heritage Trail, and the surrounding area to watch the fireworks and listen to the music.
I am so thankful to our City Events team lead by Events Manager, Charisma Webster and Econuel Ingram for executing an excellent event flawlessly. I thank the Mayor &āCouncil for reauthorizing the event for 2026 and our City Manager Shawn Edmondson and team for executing the plan
I would like to give a special thank you to Demetries Wells, our
Stockbridge Fire Marshal! Chief Wells executed the Amphitheater capacity plan to perfection at the security gate! He was assisted by Stockbridge Human Resources Manager Dwayne Pollack! When concertgoers did not show up or people left early, he managed to keep the venue full by letting more concertgoers in while gauging capacity. However, we were never over capacity! Great job Chief Wells and Mr Pollack assisting. It should be noted at all future events, even if you donāt have a ticket, if you wait until people leave, you will have an opportunity to get in with the Fire Marshal managing capacity for safety letting more people in.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making the epic Stockbridge July 4th Extravaganza a reality!

Please be advised we currently have a Henry County Water Authority water main break in the Rock Quarry Road area of Stockbridge around Piedmont Henry Hospital causing water discoloration. Henry County Water Authority is actively working to resolve the issue and a crew is being dispatched to flush the lines. šš¾
