The City of Statesville NC will begin its annual loose-leaf collection program on Monday, October 19, 2026. Crews will follow the established five-area collection schedule, beginning in Area One and continuing sequentially through the remaining areas. The schedule will repeat throughout the fall and winter to ensure all neighborhoods are covered.
There will be no loose-leaf collection during the weeks of November 23 and December 21, 2026. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday weeks, Sanitation crews must collect five days of garbage and recycling in three days. This requires all available Sanitation staff to focus on garbage and recycling collection.
Residents should place loose leaves at the curb during the weeks leading up to these holiday weeks. If leaves need to be collected during the week of November 23 or December 21, they must be placed in bags at the curb on the residentโs scheduled garbage collection day. Loose- leaf collection will resume following each holiday week.
