RCFC’s very own Coach Kate Sierra was part of the group from USA Fencing that participated in the closing bell ceremony today for the NASDAQ stock exchange. She even got her face up on Times Square! Kate will be representing Team USA in the Veteran World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia this upcoming October!

Steve competed at Escrimeur Fencers Club in a Division 2 event this morning, coming in 5th out of 15 fencers. He fenced well in pools, winning 3 bouts out of four, then won his first DE in a nailbiter 15-13. He lost to the eventual champion 8-15 but made a lot of good adjustments and fought hard for every touch. Great job today, SabreCat!!

Coach Setlow painted a SabreCats mural at the club this week. We ❤️ it and appreciate how he uses his artistic talent to impact our space. The SabreCats are RCFC’s travel squad—anyone who goes to a tournament outside the club enters the SabreCat ranks. Can’t wait to see their numbers grow this season!
SabreCats Xander (Y10 MS), Ava (Y10 WS), Lucia (Y10 and Y12 WS), and Lucy (Y12 WS) competed today at Escrimeur Fencers Club. For half of them, this was their first “away” tournament. We are so proud of all of you!!! Xander finished 3rd, Ava 3rd, Lucia was 2nd/7th, and Lucy was 6th in their respective events. Can’t wait to see them grow and develop their fencing skills!
SabreCats Steve (Men’s Sabre C and Under), Kate, Daynna, and Bingo (Women’s Sabre C and Under) did a great job this morning at Escrimeur Fencers Club Steve ended up in 11th place, Kate 8th, Daynna 10th, and Bingo 11th. A good first showing by all in this first outing of the season. Some of the Team went to Maria’s Taqueria for lunch in between events. Would recommend!!
