At this year's Aging Conference, it was all about remembering the past and planning for the future! We were happy to welcome participants from our three Older Adult Centers across Staten Island to the Bernikow JCC building this week! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an incredible day of bringing older adults together to learn, connect, and get the resources they need to live a long and fulfilling life!

PJ Library in New York stopped by the Bernikow JCC building in their PJ Library Bookmobile, bringing free Jewish children's book to our families!

It’s good news: Staten Island elected officials secure $550K in funding for Sunrise Day Camp State Sen.Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and Assemblyman Charles D. Fall announced the funding on Friday, July 10.

We’re so excited to be sending 10 teens from Staten Island to Israel this summer, where they’ll join other teens from across New York City for an unforgettable experience!

The group recently had their trip orientation at the Kings Bay Y in Brooklyn!

We officially kicked off our third CRED cohort! We're excited to welcome 60 participants across four training tracks: Construction, Security Guard, HVAC, and IT Support.

During launch day, alumni connected with our newest participants to share their experiences and encouragement. As one of our alumni speakers, Ronaldo shared, "The commitment you make today can open doors to opportunities and a career path that may exceed your expectations."

We're proud to support this new cohort as they begin their journey toward career success!

Our JCC Career Services Case Manager, Ashley Desir, was proud to participate in the Staten Island Reentry Task Force Roundtable, joining district attorneys, counselors, peer advocates, faith leaders, and community partners in a collaborative discussion on strategies to strengthen reentry services across Staten Island for justice-involved individuals and their families.

Founded in 1990, the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Staten Island has developed an impressive tradition of community service, fellowship, and alumni engagement. Over the past three decades, the Club has significantly expanded its membership, broadened its activities, strengthened the University of Notre Dame's presence in New York City, and established itself as a leader in service to the Staten Island community. The Club has flourished through the dedication of its members and continues to grow while remaining committed to its founding mission.

The Club has organized numerous initiatives, including the annual Bread of Life Food Drive, Christmas Toy Drive, Student Send-Off, football trips to cheer on the Fighting Irish at Giants Stadium, Yankee Stadium, and Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, annual gatherings for Notre Dame students home during the holidays, scholarship fundraisers, Gamewatch football parties, the 9/11 Eve of Solemn Remembrance, the University of Notre Dame Celebration, the Thanksgiving Coat Drive, and the annual Christmas Party and Toy Drive. These programs reflect the continued expansion of the vision established by the Club's founding members to influence outstanding young men and women to select Notre Dame for an undergraduate education and offer programs of common alumni interest such as seminars, student send-offs, or other selective programs which stimulate thought on issues of the day. The Notre Dame Club is extremely proud of its long partnership with the Joan & Alan Bernikow Jewish Community Center. The JCC and the Notre Dame Club partner in fighting food insecurity on Staten Island through the Annual Bread of Life Food Drive. The club also partners with the JCC in support of Sunrise Day Camp, where they have been a leading team sponsor of SunriseWalks for several years.
