Ye Olde Freeze + Thaw Cycle Shoppe of State College, Penna. will be CLOSED on Saturday 7/4 to chill, ride and paddle with friends + family.

Regular posted hours will resume on Monday 7/6.

In other news, we are looking forward to assembling this custom Seven Cycles Sola next week for our friend Mike. More details to follow as we build up this absolutely dreamy hardtail mountain bike.

Ye Olde FTC Wednesday Night Gravel Ride will be different tonight due to the extreme heat advisory...

Join us at the Tussey Pond (behind the Fun Center & Beer Garden) from 7pm - Dark.

Those up for riding a Gravel loop are of course welcome, although the real attraction of the evening will be related to Stand Up Paddleboards and swimming in the pond.

We'll be supplying four NRS inflatable SUPS from for folks to try out and the Beer Garden will be OPEN for refreshments.

We'll be leaving at 6:30pm from the Shoppe and riding a variety of surfaces on the way to Musser Gap. A stop at the new Highpoint Skate Park will also be on the agenda.

Ye Olde Freeze & Thaw Cycle Shoppe of State College Penna. has several important announcements for this week!

1) We'll be CLOSED Sat 5/23 - Mon 5/25 to ride, paddle and chill with friends & family.

2) Our friend and very talented Gab Yunis will be in the Shoppe on Wed 5/20 at Noon to celebrate our 21st birthday with a Tattoo Flash event!

Gab looked through some of my favorite vintage bike books and came up with a fun selection to choose from. Pick any design in Black ink for $50 each, arm or leg. First come, first served.

3) Our friend Cindy of Wild Trails Sauna will be set up for Oak Barrel Sauna sessions. Keep in mind that the Sauna would have to happen before a tattoo. Folks interested should bring a bather and towel. $25 for up to an hour or sauna and cold plunge. First come, first served and the sauna holds 8 people max.

Ye Olde Freeze & Thaw Cycle Shoppe of State College, Penna. is proud to display this stunning Grove Team Assault in our ever-growing "Innovations Archive".

BIG THANKS to our friend Jackie for loaning us her original race bike featuring one of the best paint jobs we've ever seen.

Our friend Tommy painted for Grove and told us that this was a Team-only paint scheme and that very few were made.

The crackle effect in the paint was achieved with a chemical applied over the clearcoat, creating a totally unique pattern each time. That product is no longer available, making this frame even more rare.

from Tommy:
"The company’s name was Vreeble. Basically it would shrink itself which would show the underlying paint color. Sprayed on top of a wet coat of clear which allowed it to shrink to the best result."

We've actually only seen one other Grove team bike like this in all of our years of collecting - this example is a real survivor for sure!
