Our clients come to us for many different reasons.

Some are returning after surgery and working to increase mobility and balance. Others are focused on losing weight, improving their health, and feeling like themselves again.

Ryan and Kate came to us in 2024 with the goal of gaining strength and avoiding injuries. The results of their commitment to their health and fitness speak for themselves, but along the way, they discovered something that keeps so many of our clients here for years: our community.

Why are your goals meaningful to you?

Many people set goals with the intention of improving their health, fitness, or overall quality of life, but over time those goals can become challenging to maintain.

A crucial part of creating lasting change is understanding the deeper reason behind what you are working toward.

When you have a clear long-term vision, you’ll understand why your goals matter. As a result, your daily actions become more purposeful and easier to maintain.

Read our blog post to learn more about how focusing on the long term can help you create lasting change.

The single leg deadlift is one of the most valuable movements we use for building lower body strength and improving balance. By keeping the back foot lightly supported on a Valslide, we can challenge the target muscles while providing assistance for the balance demands of the exercise.

What to do:
✅ Keep your weight mainly on your front foot
✅ Hinge through the hip
✅ Maintain a long spine in line with your back leg.

Avoid:
❌ Excessive knee bend
❌ Rounding your back
❌ Extending your neck

Do you think about pace during training sessions?

Your pace (the amount of rest between exercises) can change the demands on your body and the results of your fitness over time.

For example, a moderate pace allows you to increase the intensity of specific exercises to increase strength. On the other hand, a challenging pace would demand more of your cardiovascular system and contribute to increased metabolic demand.

Check out our latest blog post to learn more about pace and how to be purposeful with it during your next training session.
