A lot of people hit their 40s and start blaming everything on age.

Stiff in the morning? Getting older. Knees ache after a long day? Getting older. Carrying something heavy suddenly feels harder than it used to? Must be age.

But age isn't always the whole story.

In this week's edition of Life. Unchained., I break down why losing strength, moving less, and avoiding the things that feel difficult can make your body feel older faster—and why getting stronger can reverse more of that than most people realize.

Accountability isn’t a motivational text.

It isn’t making you feel guilty when you miss a workout.

And it isn’t waiting until you’ve been gone for a month to ask where you’ve been.

Real accountability means someone notices early.

Every week, we check to see who hasn’t been in.

Sometimes you’re traveling, on vacation, or already scheduled to come back later in the week. Other times, life got busy and your routine quietly slipped. That’s the moment accountability matters most.

Not to pressure you. Not to keep score.

But to help you get back on track before one missed week turns into three.

Consistency doesn’t mean being perfect.

It means getting back through the door quickly when life gets in the way.

One of the biggest myths in fitness is that motivated people are the ones who stay consistent.

They're not.

Everyone starts motivated. That's the easy part. A new goal, a new routine, a new gym... motivation is usually at its highest on day one. The problem is that motivation isn't meant to last. Life gets busy, work gets stressful, the kids need you, and there will always be days when you simply don't feel like working out.

The people who stay fit for years aren't somehow more motivated than everyone else. They've just stopped relying on motivation. They've built routines that work even on the days they don't feel like showing up.

That's why I don't ask people to be motivated. I ask them to be consistent.

Some days you'll have a great workout. Other days you'll just check the box and move on. Both count.

Because at the end of the day, your results won't be determined by your most motivated week. They'll be determined by what you do, over and over again, long after that motivation fades.

Ever feel like you're always starting over?

You have a good week. Maybe even two. Then work gets busy, the kids have something going on, you miss a few workouts... and suddenly you're telling yourself you'll "start again on Monday."

Here's the truth. It usually isn't a motivation problem. It's a systems problem.

The people who stay fit for years don't avoid interruptions. They simply get back to their routine faster than everyone else.

In this week's article, I break down why consistency has less to do with willpower than you think—and how one small mindset shift can help you stop starting over.

Some days remind you that time is the one thing you can't get back.

Not to scare you.

To wake you up.

You spend years building a career.
Building a family.
Building a life you're proud of.

Don't neglect the one thing that allows you to enjoy all of it:

Your health.

The choices you make today become the life you live tomorrow.

Make them count.

You’re living in a country where:

• Nearly $173 BILLION is spent every year treating obesity-related issues
• Heart disease is still the #1 killer in America
• Someone dies from cardiovascular disease every 34 seconds

And somehow we still treat fitness like it’s optional.

Your health is either an investment now…or a bill later.

You’ve found success in your career.
Your family.
Your responsibilities.

But fitness still feels like the one thing you can’t fully figure out.

Usually it comes down 1 or more of these 3 things:

1️⃣ You don’t trust yourself to stay consistent because life always gets busy again.

2️⃣ Your body doesn’t recover like it used to, and aches/pains make you hesitant to start.

3️⃣ You haven’t found an environment that actually makes you WANT to show up.

Most people don’t need more motivation.
They need the right structure, support, and environment.

It depends on the day, but most members probably think we put devil hours on when we make up workouts.

Truth is, there’s a real strategy and art to what we put into workouts. They are programmed well in advance and tested by multiple people to ensure the intent we have behind it is realized in practice.

Behind the scenes, it’s a lot of testing and adjusting…but sometimes our intent is to make it suck :)

You’re “eating healthy”…
But are you tracking the little things? 👀🍳

1 tablespoon of oil = about 120 extra calories added to your eggs.

For someone trying to stay in a calorie deficit, those little add-ons matter WAY more than people think.

Instead, try adding a little water and covering the pan. Your eggs still cook evenly, still taste great, and you save calories without sacrificing volume.

Most people aren’t failing because of one big meal…
It’s the little things adding up all day long that keep them out of a calorie deficit.

Small changes. Big difference.
