Our 26th Kukkiwon Poom/Dan Testing on Saturday was an incredibly special day for us as seven of our members earned recommendation for new black belt ranks. Congratulations and kudos to all our candidates for an excellent test!
What made the day especially meaningful was watching one of our students, who started training with us as a 1st grader, test for his 3rd Dan—just weeks before he heads off to college. Watching him grow from a young child into a confident, disciplined young man has been one of the rewards for our masters.
Three other longtime members also tested for 3rd Dan—a mother-daughter pair who have trained with us for years, and a young woman who is heading into her junior year of high school. We also had two members test for 2nd Dan and one for 1st Poom. Every belt represents years of perseverance, discipline, setbacks, growth and choosing to keep going.
That is what Taekwondo is truly about—not simply developing better martial artists and athletes, but helping shape stronger, more disciplined, resilient, and compassionate human beings.
Proud of every one of you. Keep training, keep growing, and always remember our motto:
Be Present, Humble and Grateful.

We attended the AAU Region 8 Taekwondo Qualifiers in St. Charles, Mo. Yesterday. We only had one competitor, Miss Angle-Graves, but she did us proud by capturing gold in the Women Under 30 Sport Poomsae division. We also had lots of fun meeting and chatting with several old friends and watching some of the competition. We also had excellent lunch from the Los Cuñados Street Tacos #2 food truck, parked at the Bench Racers pit stop on 1801 N 2nd St, St Charles, MO 63301. Highly recommended. Let's support our local small businesses.
