Congratulations to the Regency Dance Team with the very successful performance of their routine. Their commitment to each other and the team in general was apparent as we watched their weekly progress over the couple of months.

Labor day weekend coming up! That means it is Rollin' On The River Dance Convention weekend too! The U Can Dance Studio is looking forward to presenting our formation team's dance routine based per request with a "James Bond 007" theme.
Our formation team, comprised of our adult advanced group class will be putting the finishing touches this week and be willing and able for the Saturday evening performance.
It's always a pleasure to perform for this audience of fellow dancers. They completely understand the preparations needed to make these exhibitions happen.

Just a bit of a throwback to 2021. We were having a fun time getting back in touch with our dance friends after Covid-19 with the Rollin On The River dance convention attendees.

We are going to be at the convention again this year! Always a fun time and plenty of support from our fellow dancers. We are working on the final touches this week with a dress rehearsal this coming Saturday with the St. Louis Ballroom Dancers monthly event. They will let us know if we need to make adjustments.

A few times per year our studio does performances outside of the studio. Some are private while others are public. We have a formation team comprised of our advanced students that meet on Wednesday evenings.

We were in Centralia IL in the Spring and coming in September we will be in St. Louis for a private Dance Convention and the St. Louis Art Fair in Clayton MO on Sept. 19

Our students are our extended dance family. We share a passion for dance as well as mutual respect for our skills in dance. We dance with each other to strengthen our skills as well as the friendship. We have no problem making room for more members that want to learn. So come see us.

Looks like we have a bit of a break from the heat warnings this week. We can certainly appreciate the moderation.

Our formation teams are adding the final touches on the preparations for the upcoming performances in just a few weeks from now. They will be checking the costumes and the all important footwear too. Our dancers have shoes that will be function on rough surfaces as well as others designed for wooden (preferred ) surfaces. Need to treat our feet properly.

Today is Son & Daughter day, so we happen to have an image captured of Mary and her son Eli in a performance last September for the Rollin on the River dance convention. The studio was showcasing our youth dancers as well as our adult formation team at this private event.

Performing for our fellow dancers is always a fun time. They understand the preparation behind the performance. We were rewarded with a standing ovation from the attendees.

What can we say? We have not posted for 2 weeks!! Well, we have been busy getting ready for our upcoming performances in September as well as doing some updates at the studio to our computer systems.

So over the Labor Day weekend we will be preforming for the Rollin on the River Dance Convention. This is a private event sponsored by the West County Swing Club and they have attendees from the all over the Mid West. The American Bop association is the common thread for all of these fine dancers.

Then September 19 will find us at the St. Louis Art Fair in Clayton MO. We will be performing on the stage @ 1:00 ~ 1:30 PM. Our sister studio Dancing with Tina's Ballerinas will be performing from 4:00 ~4:30

Dang it's Hot. Lucky for us we have the AC running at the studio. We are supposed to have a bit of coolness starting Wednesday, Good!

Then again the image contains our KOOL Extended Dance Family in a group shot from our first show of this 2026 season at the Centralia Cultural Center.

We are working on routines for our upcoming appearances at the Rollin' On The River Dance Convention (ticketed) as well as the St. Louis Art Fair coming this September. These shows are voluntary for our students/Dance Family. It is a commitment of time and energy plus the class cost of $10 PP.

Just a note here. The routines that we use can also be danced without the group. You learn the routine & it is yours to keep and share with others. No NDA required at the end of the day. We only ask not to share the routines until after the event. We do want to surprise our audience.

It has been a bit since the last post. We have multiple dance teams working on upcoming performances. To say they are excited would not be out of line. They are none the less committed to the task and having a bit of fun too.

One event will be the St. Louis Art fair that takes place in downtown Clayton MO. The other is a private event called Rollin' On The River. It is a dance convention hosted by the West County Swing Dance Club.

Now the image is of a group that was assembled by some of our students and enlisted dancers from the local dance clubs and our studio. It was collectively called the Pink Ladies for this routine. They used music from "Grease". Their group name fits of course. They were great at the Centralia IL show. We know they also wowed at least 2 local dance clubs with this routine. Plenty of smiles were given and welcomed.

There are heat warnings out and about the area so stay hydrated and watch out for each other while you are dancing.
