St. Mary's Wrestling

Need a few more good dudes that want to join in our "pursuit of excellence".

Wrestling room has a new mat for us to practice on, wrestled on it for the first time this week!

Thanks to our young coaches Max and Ben for giving the guys great instruction. And thank you Talia Lee (sister of Corbin Lee) for helping our guys learn. Corbin was our first state medalist.

Wrestlers continue to put in the work. This weekend a group of boys went to Missouri Baptist University to train and learn on Saturday and Sunday followed by a little recreation afterwards (thank you Coach Tim for hosting us at your pool).

Very proud of our boys representing Team MO in Florida. Everyone can tell where they are from with their special singlets. Gabe, Audy and Aiden are competing well and making us proud. ,

Gabe, Audy and Aiden will represent Team Missouri for the AAU National dual tournament in Florida next week, competing for the All-Star Team (state placers). They've been training with the team at Lafayette 4X/week since June 1. Invested! .

Many guys have been putting in mat time all spring and into the summer. More pictures to come soon. We have a few guys striving to see just how high they can go!

Just the latest: Audy, Gabe and Lavell with Coach Yattoni of Lindenwood and Coach Max Hunkins of St. Mary's. They attended the camp with these coaches (and a bunch of other area wrestlers) at wreSTL for 5 hours yesterday.

We don't just wrestle.

It's always a good thing to begin the week with gratitude for volunteers. Members from St. Mary's Wrestling team have been serving with SJHI every Friday afternoon-- mowing and maintaining yards as well as other projects. In addition to projects in the house, these volunteers extracted three huge yew bushes to make way for renovation work and fresh new landscaping. Thank you to these volunteers and all who show their support for SJHI's mission through service! # St. Mary's South Side Catholic High School

Congratulations to Audy Clark on being selected as part of the Post-Dispatch's All-Metro wrestling team.

We appreciate the press, however, it should have said 3rd place improving on his 4th place finish last year.

We wrapped up this season with our banquet this week. The boys are already considering what are their goals for next year and what preparation is required to reach those goals. Our award winners:

Rookie of the Year: Nate Harrer
Most Improved: Aiden Timberman
Dragon Spirit Award: Lavell McCloud
Outstanding Wrestler: Audy Clark
Career Achievement: John La Plant

The team finished 13th. Outstanding performances by our 5 qualifiers. Our place winners:
3rd Place - Audy Clark, 126 (junior)
4th Place - Aiden Timberman, 190 (junior)
4th Place - Lavell McCloud, 215 (sophomore)
