NCAC SCHOLAR ATHLETES ‼️📚

The North Coast Athletic Conference released the Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll a few weeks ago, and SEVEN of our athletes across both the men’s and women’s team received this honor!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🏊🏻‍♀️🎓

Our final senior we recognize is McKenna Clark.

McKenna is a mid-distance freestyler and a four-year member and second-year captain. She is a positive source of energy on deck and is always there for her teammates and encourages others to do the same! McKenna’s leadership is an inspiration to everyone around her, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the work she has put in over the last four years. 🤩

McKenna has been swimming for 15 years, and has made an impact on this team in so many ways, including (but not limited to) posting a top ten time in the 100 freestyle. She is studying Mathematics and has received departmental honors (Pi Mu Epsilon) and is a member of the following honors societies: Sigma Alpha Pi, Chi Alpha Sigma, and Kappa Delta Pi. 🧮

McKenna will be graduating with a bachelor’s in Mathematics in a few days! We wish you all the best in your next chapter, and will be cheering you on from Springfield! ❤️

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🏊🏼‍♂️🎓

Our next senior we recognize is Mason Steen.

Mason is a breaststroke/freestyle specialist and a four-year member and second-year captain. Mason’s leadership and ambition has been an inspiration to all. Despite all obstacles, Mason kept pushing both himself and his teammates every day! 💪

Mason has been swimming competitively for 12 years. Throughout his WSD career, Mason has received NCAC Athlete of the Week honors, is a 2-time Iron Tiger, and ranks in the Top 10 in program history with his 100 breaststroke. He is also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honors society, a 2-time All-Academic honors recipient and a 2-time recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Biological and Environmental Sciences award. 🧬

Mason will be graduating with a bachelor’s in Biology and in Environmental Science in a few weeks! We wish you all the best in your next chapter, and will be cheering you on from Springfield!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🏊🏻‍♀️🎓

Our first graduating senior we would like to highlight is Shania Stone.

Shania is primarily a sprint freestyler a third-year member of our team and was a captain this season. She treats her teammates with the utmost love and care, and truly embodies what it means for a team to be a second family. Her trademark TLC has become both a daily practice and team circle staple! ❤️

Shania has been a high achiever both in and out of the pool even before she joined us her sophomore year. She was a member of the Wittenberg Water Polo team, but has been swimming since she was 5. Shania currently holds our 50 freestyle (x2) and 100 individual medley records, and ranks among the top in program history in both the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle. She also was named the 2026 NCAC Scholar-Athlete, the first female swimmer to receive this honor in almost three decades.

Shania is a member of numerous honors societies, including the University Honors Program, Psi Chi, Chi Alpha Sigma, Tri-Alpha, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Alpha Phi Omega. She is also a member of Sigma Kappa sorority.

Shania will be graduating with honors in Psychology in May! We wish you all the best in your next chapter, and will be cheering you on from Springfield! 🐯
