Training harder isn’t always the answer. Sometimes, the smartest thing you can do is know when NOT to push.

When Ethen tells me something feels weak or different, that information matters.

The goal isn’t to ignore it and pile on more work. It’s to understand where he is today, adjust what we’re doing, and progress the training when his body is ready for it.

Because individualized development isn’t about making every session harder.

It’s about making every session right for the athlete in front of you.

That’s what you’re seeing here with Ethen. We can change the exercise, the resistance, the direction, or the progression based on what he’s showing me and what he’s feeling.

The harder, more dynamic work will come.

But doing more isn’t the goal. Doing what’s right for YOU is.
That’s the GRIT difference.

Great teams don’t need more noise. They need the right support behind them. 🏈

We’re proud to be the Official Strength & Conditioning Partner of the Alpha Omega Lions Football Team at Alpha Omega Academy.

Our role at GRIT isn’t to replace the great coaching already happening inside a program. It’s to strengthen what’s already there.

We bring the performance system, programming, progressions, and strength and conditioning expertise that complement what coaches are building on the field.

That means coaches can spend more time doing what they do best: coaching their athletes, preparing their team, and competing to win.

And athletes can step onto the field knowing the work behind the scenes has prepared them to perform with confidence.

That’s what being Powered by GRIT is all about.

If you’re building a school, club, or athletic organization and want a strength and conditioning partner behind your program, we’d love to talk.

You shouldn’t have to get injured to start training your body for the demands of your sport.

When Cami came to GRIT after ACL and meniscus surgery, she was behind where she wanted to be in her recovery.

But her goal wasn’t just to get cleared.
She wanted to get back to volleyball stronger, more confident, and better prepared for the movements her sport demands.

That meant rebuilding more than strength. We worked on how she balanced, jumped, landed, changed direction, and controlled her body through the movements she’d face on the court.

And the work didn’t stop when she was cleared to play.

That experience gave Cami a perspective every athlete (and parent) should hear:

Don’t wait for an injury to start developing the qualities that can help your athlete move and perform with confidence.

That’s why at GRIT, we train the athlete behind the sport, not just after something goes wrong.

Here’s a glimpse of what training at GRIT looks like. 👀

Inside the GRIT Elite Athlete Training facility in Huntsville, Texas, athletes don’t come in just to get through another workout.

They come in to train with intention.
Every jump. Every cut. Every lift. Every progression.
There’s a reason behind the work—and it’s built around helping each athlete develop what they need to perform at a higher level.

Different sports. Different goals. Different athletes.

That means the training shouldn’t look the same for everyone.
This is what individualized development looks like at GRIT.

And this is only a sneak peek. 🔥

Your training program should start with YOU.

Not just your sport.
Not just your position.
And definitely not what every other athlete is doing.

When I work with an athlete like Corey, I’m paying attention to what they tell me, how they move, what they already do well, and where we can create an advantage.

Because the goal isn’t to find more exercises to make training harder.
It’s to understand the athlete well enough to make the training matter.

That’s what you’re watching happen in this session.

The more I learn about Corey, the more information I have to build and adjust his program around what he needs to become a better basketball player.

That’s what individualized development looks like.

This one means a lot to me. ❤️

Cindy, thank you for trusting me with Natalie and allowing me to be part of her journey these past few years.

Watching her grow as an athlete—from building her strength, power, and agility to now getting ready for her first season of college volleyball—has been so rewarding.

And hearing this from Cindy means even more because she sees Natalie through two lenses: as her mom and as a physical therapist.

I’m grateful that GRIT has been one piece of Natalie’s journey and that the work we’ve done together has helped her feel prepared for what’s ahead.

But Natalie is the one who kept showing up and putting in the work. And now she gets to take all of that with her into this next chapter. 🏐

Natalie, I’m so proud of you, and I can’t wait to see you compete at the college level!

And Cindy, thank you again for the kind words—and most of all, for trusting me with your athlete. ❤️

We asked GRIT Basketball Athlete Maci Mote to give you the official tour… and she definitely made it her own. 😂🏀

Yes, there’s a lot of training that happens inside these walls.

But there’s also coaching, recovery, conversations, laughs, snacks (apparently VERY important 😂), and a community of athletes from right here and around the world.

Because GRIT isn’t a place where you just show up, get your workout done, and leave.
It’s a place where athletes come to work, develop, connect, and be part of something bigger.

And judging by this tour, Maci can officially add GRIT spokesperson to her résumé. 😂

Thanks for showing everyone around, Maci! 🏀

Your coaches have a team to coach.
But who’s developing the athletes behind it?

They already have a job to do—coach their sport, lead their athletes, and build their team.

But behind every season are questions that still need answers:
Is the training preparing athletes for what their sport actually demands?
Does it make sense for where they are in the season?
Is there a clear plan for how the work progresses instead of simply changing workouts?

And as your program grows, can you give athletes that level of development without adding more to your coaches’ plates?

That’s the bigger idea behind Powered by GRIT.

GRIT becomes the strength & conditioning partner behind your organization, so your team can have a clear development system without your coaches having to build one themselves.
You keep doing what you do best.

We help make sure the physical development behind your athletes has the same level of intention.
Because when you're responsible for developing a team, it shouldn't come down to finding another workout.

It should come down to having the right system and the right partner behind it.

Send me a message if you lead a school, club, or college program and want to explore what a partnership with GRIT could look like for your athletes.
