Back-to-school food doesn’t need to become another meal-prep project.

Most of these swaps are still grab it, pack it, and go. The difference is knowing what to look for when you’re already at the store.

Some of the brands shown here, including Applegate, Chomps, Simple Mills, BEAR, Siggi’s and Purely Elizabeth, can commonly be found at stores like Whole Foods, Target, H-E-B and Sprouts. Availability will vary by location.

And you don’t need these exact brands.

Use them as a reference: look for simple ingredient lists, quality protein, whole fruit when practical, less added sugar, fewer artificial colors and flavors, and better-quality fats. Then make sure the foods actually work together as a meal or snack.

That last part matters. Four “clean” packaged foods don’t automatically make a balanced lunch.

For lunch, think protein + fruit or produce + a quality carbohydrate + water. For a school snack, keep it smaller and choose something with enough protein, fiber or fat to actually hold them over.

The goal isn’t a perfect lunchbox.

It’s knowing how to make a better choice when you’re standing in the grocery aisle.

Save this one for your next grocery run.

Wonder Bread has roughly 30 ingredients and sub-ingredients.

The bread I made at home has 5 ingredients, plus water.

And I already know what some people are thinking:

“I don’t have time to make bread.”

Neither do I.

That’s why I used a bread maker. I put everything in, pressed a button, walked away, and came back to a fresh loaf. It does the mixing, kneading, rising and baking for you.

Here’s exactly what I used:

🍞 Easy Bread Maker Recipe

• 1 cup + 2 tbsp warm water
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp honey
• 1½ tsp salt
• 3 cups bread flour
• 1½ tsp instant yeast

That’s it.

And no, the point isn’t that you suddenly need to start making everything from scratch.

The point is that bread is an incredibly simple food. Flour, water, oil, honey, salt and yeast can make an entire loaf.

Once you start paying attention to ingredient labels, you realize how often the foods we buy have become far more complicated than they need to be.

You don’t have to completely change the way you eat.

Just start paying attention to what’s actually in your food.

Eating better doesn’t mean giving up pancakes, chicken tenders, peanut butter, chocolate, or ranch.

It means realizing that the product matters just as much as the food.

Two products can sit in the same aisle, look almost identical, and have completely different ingredient lists.

That’s why one of the simplest things you can do for your health is start flipping the package over.

Look at the ingredients.
Compare your options.
Choose the better version.

You don’t need a perfect diet. You need to make better choices more often.

Read. Choose. Change.

THE WOODLANDS - I’m opening 5 spots for private in-home coaching.

After 15 years of personal training and coaching, I’m opening a small roster for a new 90-day private coaching program here in The Woodlands.

This is specifically for men and couples with a home gym who want more than simply meeting with a trainer for an hour.

I come to you.

We’ll train together in your home twice per week, and I’ll manage the rest of the process between sessions:

• 2 private in-home training sessions each week
• A complete customized training program
• Nutrition coaching + full access to Momentum Kitchen
• Weekly progress tracking and adjustments
• Ongoing accountability and direct access to me

The goal is simple: take the guesswork out of getting in shape.

You don’t need a trainer standing next to you five days a week. You need the right plan, someone holding you accountable, and an experienced coach making adjustments as you progress.

You also don’t need a commercial-quality home gym. If you have dumbbells, a bench and enough equipment to train effectively, we can likely make it work. Not sure? Send me a photo of your setup.

Because I’m personally coming to each client, I’m limiting this to 5 spots in The Woodlands.

If you’re serious about making a change over the next 90 days, send me a private message with “90 DAYS” and I’ll send you the details.

Men & couples only. The Woodlands only.

These honestly taste like something you’d buy at a coffee shop… except the ingredients are actually simple.

Spent years chasing the “perfect” supplement stack. Looking back, I’d tell my younger self to stop majoring in the minors.

Sleep. Protein. Walking. Strength training. Real food. Stress management.

The basics look boring until they completely change your life.
