Getting to fish in the MN Jr Bass Nation State Championship is not an easy task. It’s the reward after the challenging culmination of hard work and dedication and consistent results. Every athlete on Leech Lake this weekend put in their all and fished hard with the hope of bringing home the Championship trophy. But we all know not everyone gets to bring that specific trophy home. What we do know is that each and every athlete gets to bring home memories that will last their lifetime. They will reflect and learn from their experience which will only make them a better athlete on the water next year. They will hone in on their skills, focus on the deeper friendships they made, laugh at their inside jokes, and look at their teammates knowing they too worked hard. That is the trophy they are going home with tonight. Panther Proud of these athletes and I can’t wait for next season!!

Why is the Student Angler Tournament Trail Presented by Lund & Rapala Team Event so amazing? Does it give you TOY points? No. Does it give you an opportunity to get into the TOC? No.

Does it assist in teaching anglers lessons and skills that they will use lifelong? Absolutely! Will it form lifelong friendships and memories? Yes. SLP anglers talk about their SATT State Team experiences for years! This event guides anglers down the path of establishing skills that form strong leaders, strong anglers, and bonds of friendship. These anglers learn and exhibit skills of leadership, teamwork, delegation, allocation of responsibility, understanding the importance of ensuring all voices are heard, respect and being humble yet always striving to perform with the mental wherewithal of a competition angler. Thank you for this experience!

Congratulations Grand Rapids, STMA and Brainerd for your podium wins. Congratulations all teams who fished in the event for making this such a great weekend!!
