The air is cooling, signaling fall is on the way and so is the High Timber Classic! The final Columbia Hunter Jumper horse show in our USHJA Outreach series for 2026! Dress coolers and pads are being embroidered and they are going to be lovely! High fun and low stress is what we strive for! Come join the fall fun. Chef Randy will have fall treats at the MVF Cafe and Boots & Bubbles will have specialty drinks for all.
We love to decorate for the fall show.... straw bales, cornstalks, pumpkins, leaves and sunflowers! It's been a tough summer so let's dust off our duds and have a great time! Warm-up schooling on Friday the 18th!

It’s always bittersweet when the kids at MVF head back to school in the fall. We get used to daytime with these kiddos all summer where they can make life long friends and hang at the barn on summer days! But, now they are off to new school adventures! We closed out the summer today with our MVF Summer’s End Day Camp! The kids had course setting and walking, riding with Simon Says and a lot of no stirrup fun! We had a lecture on horse feed and nutrition and the kids helped feed lunch. Camp shirts were custom colored and everyone submitted their designs for a jump pole contest. We had a craft project with horse shoes and we capped off the day with a Scavenger Hunt! Judging by the smiles and laughter it was a success. Until next summer….☀️🏖️🏇

Meadow View Farm has been busy collecting donations for our horse community! Many thanks to Kim Stuckens, Redmond, WA and the Washington State Hunter Jumper association and PNW and local equestrians for their tremendous support and outpouring of donations! We will be opening to the victims of the fire who need to replace items for their horses, barns, and even riding apparel. We have items for every discipline.

The Rusty Stirrup Consignment shop also has donated inventory. For horsemen who need to replace helmets, we have a fund to help paying for a helmet. We will be open 1-5 on weekends starting today! Weekdays, by appointment. Please come out if you are in need. If you don't need items but would like to purchase items at a reduced amount, 100% of the funds will go into the Helmet Grant fund!

We are so very sad to see the terrible devastation and displacement of so many people and their animals due to the catastrophic fires in the Spokane region. Our thoughts & prayers are with all those affected and with the brave firefighters working so tirelessly.

Our own Dr. Amanda Craven, DVM, DACVIM-LA offers the following information to assist you in caring for your horses in smokey conditions. Smoke can affect horse's lungs, especially the ones already dealing with asthma, pneumonia, or other upper or lower airway issues. Please watch for nasal discharge, coughing, harder breathing, or if your horse seems tired and off their feed.
If the air quality index hits 101-150, horses with respiratory problems shouldn't be exercised. Above 200, even healthy horses need to skip heavy work and stay in low-dust areas. Other things to keep an eye on are making sure that your horses have access to water that is clear of particulate matter and is ideally located in shaded areas with good ventilation.

Whether you were directly impacted by the fires in Spokane or know someone who was it is hard to get our arms around the loss and devastation. If we can help in a small way to keep our horse community going and helping out trainer friends rebuild their businesses, The Rusty Stirrup and Meadow View Farm are gathering equipment to help our horse community rebuild. The consignors at the Rusty Stirrup have agreed to donate items or sell at reduced prices to help. If you need items please reach out to us to locate replacements. If you are a current rider or trainer and have quality items in good condition to donate please reach out to us. We will begin appointments to accept items immediately and distribute items this Friday. We have saddles, bridles, halters, grooming equipment, blankets, pads, sheets, bits, gallop boots,, shipping boots and much more. A huge thank you to our consignors who have agreed to help! Most of our inventory is Hunter Jumper, Eventing or Dressage in nature. But many other items are generally used by all disciplines! If you have western items to donate don't hesitate to contact us. We ask all items be clean and in good repair.
