One season fades. Another is calling.

For four incredible weeks, Mt. Spokane was filled with dusty shoes, big adventures, laughs, new friendships, and kids discovering just how magical a mountain can be.

To every parent and family who chose to spend part of your summer with us—thank you for trusting us with your kids and giving them the chance to fall in love with the mountain. And to our amazing counselors and volunteers, thank you for bringing the energy, heart, and enthusiasm that made every hike, every game, and every day unforgettable.

The trails may be a little quieter today, but the mountain never really rests.

Now it’s time to sharpen skis, tune snowboards, spin lifts, and get this mountain ready for another season of memories. Before we know it, these same smiling faces will be chasing powder instead of butterflies.

Winter starts long before the first snowfall.

Every season, 40 dedicated volunteers earn their turns by helping prepare Mt. Spokane for winter during our annual Brushcutters Project. Complete 40 hours over two September weekends, and you’ll earn an Adult 2026–27 Season Pass.

📅 Work weekends: September 12–13 & September 19–20
💪 Must commit to both weekends (40 hours total). This is tough physical labor.

⏰ Don’t miss registration. Spots are limited.

Registration opens at 12:00 AM on Saturday, August 1.

That means you’ll need to be awake Friday night, July 31, and ready to register online the moment the clock strikes midnight. Spots typically fill within minutes.

Pro tip: Create your Mt. Spokane account and log in before July 31 so you can register as soon as the clock hits 12:00 AM.

Only 40 volunteer spots are available, plus 5 alternate spots.

“What do you guys do all summer?” 🤔

We get that question a lot.

Truth is, it is a busy time of year.

While the mountain is green, we’re already getting ready for winter. Lift maintenance. Snowcats. Capital projects. Planning. All the behind-the-scenes work that makes opening day possible.

Summer is also when we get to dream. New programs. New events. New partnerships. New ways to make skiing and snowboarding more accessible for our community. That’s one of the things we love most about being a nonprofit mountain.

If you’ve been thinking about a school ski trip, church group, corporate outing, ski club, community event, or partnership, now’s the time to reach out. Summer gives us the chance to get creative before winter gets busy.

In the meantime, here’s a little Mt. Spokane fix. We hiked a few of your favorite runs today. No fresh powder, but plenty of fresh air and some incredible views. If you haven’t been up this summer yet, come stretch your legs and take it all in.

We’ll keep getting ready for winter. You just enjoy summer.

Two big things happening June 1.

🏔️ Summit Road opens for the summer season. The State Park will have it open daily until dusk. Come up for a hike, pack a lunch and enjoy the views.

❄️ Season pass prices for next winter go up that day too. Lock in your Spring Pass price by buying online this weekend.
