Happy Tuesday Morning, Canyon Golfers!

Somehow August is nearly over, but there's still plenty of summer left and a whole lot of golf to play.

This week is going to be a busy one at The Canyon. Tonight the Canyonettes Ladies League is playing their annual scramble and this is an event that always delivers on the fun. Wednesday and Thursday evenings this week will see our two men’s leagues contesting their final matches of the season, the last two teams standing in each league will be duking it out for their respective championship titles.

On Friday the Spokane City Golf Championship kicks off with Round 1 at Esmeralda, Round 2 will be played here at The Canyon on Saturday, and Round 3 at Qualchan on Sunday. This tournament is currently sold out, but there is a waiting list that you can join by clicking the Live Tourney link in the original post.

Fall Junior Operation 36 classes will begin the week of September 8th and run for six weeks. See the pinned post above for more information and to sign up.

Lastly, the Indian Canyon Men’s Club’s final tournament of 2026 will be the 2-Man “BEAST” BALL on Saturday, September 19th. This is a fun new format for us, so check out the details in the post and click the link to sign up.

Tournament Alert - 2-MAN “BEAST” BALL!!! September 19, 2026

The final Indian Canyon Men’s Club tournament of the season will be the 2-Man “BEAST” BALL.
The BEAST-BALL is like a traditional 2-man best ball, but with a twist. All players will play their own ball and the lower of the team's two scores will be carded on each hole - however, if both players make birdies or better on the same hole, both scores count against par for the team.

For example, if on Hole #1 both players make birdies, the team then stands at -2 not just -1. There will be both Gross and Net scoring, so gross and/or net birdies and eagles trigger the BEAST-BALL multiplier.
(You all know the drill though, just write down your gross scores and let the computer do the rest).

The field will be flighted based on the number of teams and we will be paying Gross and Net, as well as skins and KP's. There will also be an optional Beat the Pros side bet.

Entry Fees: $35 for IC Members, $60 for Non Members
Entry covers Prize fund, Skins, Lunch and Drink Ticket.

GREEN FEES AND CARTS DUE SEPARATELY

Tee Times from 9am-11am and will be sent out on the Thursday prior to play.

Players can register as individuals and can request pairing. Non ICMC Members can only play with current ICMC Members.

Good Monday evening, Canyon Golfers!!!

First off, Thank You to everyone who wished us a Happy 91st Birthday today! The course opened on this day, August 17th in 1935 and while an awful lot has changed in the world over the years, rule number one at The Canyon is as true today as it ever was - don’t be above the hole.

This week our Wednesday and Thursday Twilight leagues continue playoffs with the semifinal matches and next week there will be champions crowned in both leagues.

Our Couples Chapman tournament taking place this Sunday (8/23) is nearly full, but there is still some room, so if you’ve been thinking of signing up, act fast. See the pinned post above for more info and a link to register.

Next week's Spokane City Championship will take place August 28th through 30th at Esmeralda (Round 1), Indian Canyon (Round 2), and Qualchan (Round 3). The tournament is officially full, but if you’d like to be added to the waiting list, click the Live Tourney link in the post to register.

Congratulations to Justin Dorr on a decisive victory in the 2026 Indian Canyon Club Championship. Justin finished at -6 through 36 holes. We had a full field of 60 players this year and by all accounts everyone had a great time (I certainly did, just ask the bartenders). Thank you to all who played, thanks to the kitchen and bar crew, and thanks to the grounds crew! Congrats Justin!!!!
