Lauren Wille - Assistant Coach

The Spokane Waves welcomes Lauren Wille as a new Assistant Coach!

Lauren is super excited to be joining the team! She swam for the Delta and Bullets swim club back in Illinois where she swam breaststroke and IM. She swam in college for Washington State University and competed in the 200 free, 500 free, and Mile. During her time at WSU, she made the top 10 times list in several events and broke the pool record in the 500 free this past season. She recently graduated with her BS in Kinesiology and BS in Psychology. She is now attending Whitworth to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy! She’s excited to meet everyone and to have a great season!

Lauren McGregor - Lead Developmental Coach

The Spokane Waves welcomes Lauren McGregor as our new Lead Developmental Coach!

She has been a swimmer her entire life and comes from a swimming family. She started at a young age, 5 to 6 years old, with Curl Burke Swim Club in the DC/Baltimore/VA area. After her family moved to Raleigh, NC she and her siblings continued swimming with Raleigh Swim Association.

In addition to swimming club year-round, she swam for her high school swim team, and swam for Goucher College, until a shoulder injury prevented her from continuing to compete at a collegiate level. Currently, she trains and swims for a local master's team in Spokane. Lauren is new to the Spokane and Inland Northwest area, but she brings more than 20 years of combined experience and knowledge in both competitive-swimming experience and teaching/coaching expertise.

Ben Olszewski - Interim Head Coach

The Spokane Waves welcomes Ben Olszewski as our new Interim Head Coach!

Coach Ben was an 11-time All-American swimmer at Central Washington University. He has coached at nearly every level of the sport, including summer league, high school, college, and 28 years of USA Swimming club coaching. His swimmers have achieved success at every level, including qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials and Canadian Olympic Trials.

Ben’s coaching philosophy is built around three P’s: Process. People. Partnership.

He loves helping swimmers dream, set meaningful goals, and find purpose in their journey through the sport.

Ben and his wife, Angela, have been together for 31 years and have three children.
