Clean Beer Lines = Better Pours, Happy Customers & Higher Profits 🍺 📈

July is here, which means summer is in full swing and cold draught beer is top of mind for customers looking to cool off, relax, and enjoy the season. 🍺 But a crisp, refreshing pour is only achieved when served the way the brewer intended. When beer lines are not properly cleaned, yeast, mold, bacteria, and beer stone can build up inside the system, leading to off flavors, cloudy pours, unwanted flakes, and an overall poor experience. For operators, that does not just affect taste. It impacts repeat business, customer trust, distributor relationships, and profitability.

Proper commercial beer line cleaning is not just about running soap and water through the system. It requires a consistent cleaning schedule, the right chemicals, proper flushing, faucet and coupler cleaning, and a full rinse to deliver a great draught beer.⚡ Draught systems should be cleaned every two weeks, with acid cleaning completed quarterly to remove mineral buildup like beer stone. When done correctly, this maintenance protects the quality of every pour and keeps the draught experience consistent from keg to glass.

For bars, restaurants, breweries, and hospitality venues, clean beer lines are a small investment with a big payoff. 📈 The cost of routine cleaning is often far less than the cost of lost sales, refunds, unhappy guests, or customers switching to lower-margin bottles and cans. A study by New Belgium Brewing showed that properly cleaning your beer lines costs less than 2¢ per pint. We'd say that tiny cost is worth it to help preserve the flavor brewers work so hard to create, support better profit margins, and give guests a reason to come back for another pint.

Have you ever tasted the difference between a perfect draught beer poured from a great draught system and a disappointing draught from a system that is not well maintained? Share your thoughts below. 👇
