Mason Harkins got a hole-in-one on #9 today at the Causeway Club during the MDI high school JV golf match with Brewer HS. During the press conference after the round, Mason told reporters that he used an 8 iron from the tee to the back of green hole location. Mason thanked JV golf coach Jeff McIntire for the awesome job that he does supporting all the players. He also credited his swing coach Leo Kari for helping him improve his play this summer. The JV golf team will be in action again next Monday at the Pine Hill Golf Course in Brewer.

The Baked Bean Open wrapped up today with 12 teams playing the 18 hole scramble. Much work goes into organizing these tournaments. This morning the crew was out preparing the course before sunrise. Greens were mowed and rolled, bunkers were raked, new cups were cut on the greens and tee markers were adjusted. Many people helped with cooking and setting up in the Red Barn. Matt LaHaye has done a great job for years running this fun tournament.

The golf season's final Wednesday scramble was held today. It was a three club scramble.....but....the team captain could play all his own clubs if they wore a pink cowboy hat for the entire round! It seems the captains proudly wore those pink hats!

Ann Herchenrider has won Causeway Club's first "Carol Cup"! This is a season long Ladies Day competition to see who collects the most pro shop credit. The "Cup" is in honor of Carol Haaland who won seven women's championships between 1996 and 2005. Carol very much enjoyed the camaraderie of Ladies Day. She was also a champion tennis player and is certainly a "Causeway Club Hall of Famer". Ann has played well all season and is one of the top golfers at Causeway!

The Causeway Club President's Cup Championship final was held today. It was a hard fought battle with Jack Martel coming out the winner. Bill Haynes was Runner-up. In the press conference after the round Bill mentioned how much he enjoyed playing the matches. On the 15th tee (talking about his opponent) Bill told Director of Golf Jeff McIntire "I've got him right where I want him"! Also during the press conference Jack mentioned Bill's great escape from the #6 bunker to inches from the cup! Jack also said "Thanks for the b**r Bill"! Many golfers are looking forward to the President's Cup 2027!

Ann Herchenrider made a hole-in-one on Causeway's #6 hole during the Friday Night Nine and W**e!!! Ann is also this year's Senior Net Champion! As always......the Assistant Superintendent (who cut the cup in that perfect location in the morning) humbly shares credit with Ann for her perfect shot! 😊⛳️
