COACH SPOTLIGHT: DAVE 👋🏼
You’ve probably seen a lot of Coach Dave around 611, but we figured it was time you got to know him a little better outside of the coaching floor. 👀
-How would you describe your coaching style?
Serious, but light-hearted...we’re going to have fun, but
I’m going to help you get uncomfortable so that you can grow and see results.
-What are you passionate about when it comes to coaching?
Showing up ready to help you meet your goals and exceed your own expectations. In other words, being the accountability, structure, and expertise, we all struggle to find on our own, but with a little push, and maybe some “friendly motivation” (aka hard truths), we’ll surprise ourselves.
-If you could do only one CrossFit movement for the rest of
your life, what would it be?
Power Cleans! Heavy or cycling, doesn’t matter. Just don’t
ask me to catch in a squat (often).
-What is one CrossFit movement you would happily never do
again?
Honestly....none, that goes against the whole idea of
constantly varied. Although I detest wall-walks.
-What is something our members might be surprised to learn about you?
I’m an extremely sub-par but aspiring woodworker, and I enjoy sci-fi/fantasy more than I care to admit (Harry Potter, Marvel, LOTR, Red Rising, all of it)
-What does your ideal day off look like?
Early wake up for coffee with my dog, slow morning before an 8am or 9am workout (despite being a 5am coach), house projects or woodworking, afternoon beers with friends, great food for dinner and close out at a decent
bedtime to repeat the next day.
-What is your go-to music when you work out?
Anything loud, upbeat and full of lyrics and nostalgia I can
resonate with. Aka Big Bo**ie Mix on repeat.
-Fran or Murph?
Fran...when my pull-ups are feeling good.
-Pineapple on pizza...yes or absolutely not!
Absolutely. With a lot of crispy bacon and ranch!

Happy Birthday, Becky! ❤️
Today we get to celebrate not just an incredible gym owner, but an incredible person.
Your compassion, empathy, and genuine care for every person who walks through our doors are what make this community so special. You have created so much more than a CrossFit gym — you’ve created a place where people feel supported, valued, encouraged, and like they truly belong.
Our community wouldn’t be what it is without you. The impact you have on all of us goes far beyond the workouts. Thank you for leading with such a big heart and for reminding us that strength is about so much more than what we can lift.
We are so grateful for you and everything you do. ❤️
Happy Birthday, Boss! We hope you feel as celebrated today as you make all of us feel every day! 🎉💪❤️

🔥 SUMME SHREAD SPOTLIGHT: Ricky Swift 🔥
If you’ve been around CrossFit 611 lately, you’ve probably noticed Ricky putting in the work.
This Summer Shred Challenge, he didn’t just improve… he dominated.
🏆 Overall Biggest Loser out of 33 participants across 8 teams in just SIX WEEKS!
⬇️ 19.9 lbs lost
📏 7.7 inches gone
💪 5.1% body fat reduced
And to top it off, Team 2 took home the Body Fat Champion title for the entire challenge.
When Ricky first moved here, he figured he’d give CrossFit a shot because it looked fun.
“When I moved to the area, I had always thought CrossFit looked like something I’d enjoy. I decided to give CrossFit 611 a try, and from day one I felt welcomed and kept coming back.”
What kept him coming back?
“The Olympic lifts, and the way the workouts are structured.”
One of the biggest takeaways from the nutrition challenge?
“Seeing how small intentional changes can have huge impacts.”
And when asked how he stays motivated, his answer perfectly sums up why he was so successful:
“I think I keep just trying to reach the small goals instead of looking at the long-term finish line. Just keep making progress each day.”
That’s exactly what Ricky did. He didn’t chase perfection… he focused on showing up, making small improvements, and trusting the process. Day after day, those small wins added up to one incredible transformation.
We’re so proud of you, Ricky. Thank you for trusting the process, inspiring everyone around you, and proving that consistency really does pay off.
Congratulations on an absolutely unbelievable Summer Shred! 💙💪
