Everyone asks me about protein. Nobody asks about fiber.

But 95% of us aren't eating enough of it, and it's one of the biggest levers for energy, digestion, and building a body that still works at 80.

Swipe for the why and the where. Full breakdown in this week's newsletter

Go have fun. Don't lose the kid in you just because you grew up.

Just make the appointment guys. Get it on the calendar. You’ll thank yourself when it comes up and you don’t have to wait another 2 weeks from the next time you think about it.

Things I do that don't fit the trainer stereotype 👇

If someone only shows you the 5am sessions and the clean plates, they're selling you a performance, not a practice.

I spent all of Saturday on the couch watching movies and eating an objectively unreasonable amount of candy with my fiancé.

My groin and hip flexors are pulled. Not "tweaked," not "a little tight" — pulled. So I did the thing I tell all of you to do and actually rested my legs. Full stop. Just for the day. I'm on my feet all day every day for work, so even my "rest days" have been using my legs. A lot.

And here's the part that used to make me itchy: nothing bad happened. My body didn't fall apart. My training didn't disappear. I still went to the gym last week and I'll go again this week— I'll train what doesn't hurt and leave alone what does.

Rest isn't the opposite of being fit. It's part of it. Sometimes it comes with some Ben and Jerry's and Sour Patch Kids.

Tweaked your back? Same. You're not broken — you're a person with a spine. It happens to everyone, it's frustrating, and it's almost never as serious as it feels. Setbacks aren't a detour from training for the long haul. They ARE the training.

Try not to panic, don't go to bed for a week. Move gently:
1️⃣ 90/90 breathing — 5 min
2️⃣ Cat-cow — slow + small
3️⃣ Short walks — often > long

⚠️ Pain down the leg, numbness, weakness or no improvement = see a professional.

Save this for the day your back gets dramatic. 📌

Movement is one of the best things I know for a steady mind — it's literally how I regulate. But the same tool that heals you can start to hurt you when it stops being something you get to do and becomes something you have to do to feel okay. And I've been on both ends of the extreme. Real health isn't more workouts and stricter rules; it's being able to rest without guilt, eat enough to actually fuel your life, and skip a session without your whole sense of worth going out the window. Train for the 80-year capable body, not the war with the one you're in.

Swipe through for the signs it's tipped from habit to hook — and what balance actually looks like.
