🌴 RUEDA @ THE PARK IS BACK! ☀️

One more summer afternoon of Cuban music, rueda, and good people at Sugar House Park.

No complicated agenda this time. No levels to worry about. Just come out, dance, learn some new moves, meet new people, and enjoy three hours outside with the community.

Never danced rueda before? Come anyway.
Already know your Dame, Enchufa and Vacila? Get in the circle.
Haven’t danced in six months and are pretending you forgot how? We’ll expose you gently. 😂

Bring water, comfortable shoes, and that friend who keeps saying “I’ve been wanting to try salsa!” but mysteriously develops scheduling conflicts every time dancing is involved.

🕳️ RUEDA UNDERGROUND — THIS SUNDAY 🕳️

Three hours of workshops, experimentation and controlled rueda chaos. Each hour will build upon the previous one.

🔥 3–4 PM — Basics Review

We’ll clean up familiar material:

Adiós, Con la Hermana, Con la Familia, Siete, Exhíbela and Sombrero.

This is a review—not a complete beginner class.

⚙️ 4–5 PM — Variations Workshop

We’ll expand the foundation with:

Montaña, Vacílala con Bum Bum Ba, Vacílala con Paseo and Al Centro variations.

The focus will be on timing, details and transitions—not simply memorizing more calls.

🧪 5–6 PM — Rueda Lab

We’ll combine the material, test different sequences and repair anything that falls apart before finishing with one final no-stop rueda.

Things may break. That’s why it’s a lab.

Rueda @ The Park is back June 7th

We’re bringing rueda back to Sugar House Park, because some dances just feel better under the open sky.

Cuban music, fresh air, and the kind of beautiful chaos that only happens when people move together in a circle and somehow it works.

We’ll start with an intro class by Matt, then move into advanced beginner/intermediate with Cesar & Matt, and finish with open dance.
