Your own patio. An entire farm to enjoy. Four hours with nowhere else you need to be.

We created Happy Hollow for people who want a night out that feels like a night away.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, you can reserve a private patio from 7 to 11 p.m. That space is yours for the evening: a place to settle in with your favorite people, share a meal, pour a drink, and let the night unfold at your own pace.

Every patio reservation includes a generous charcuterie board, nonalcoholic drinks, and an individual dessert for each guest. You’re welcome to bring your own alcohol. If you’d like more to eat, you can choose from our catered menu, prepared by a local partner.

Your patio is your home base, but you’re welcome to enjoy the farm throughout your visit. Play a game. Take in the setting. Sit and talk long after the sun goes down. There’s no schedule to follow and no pressure to make the most of every minute. The evening is already yours.

Happy Hollow is a reservation-only adult space. You may meet guests who have reserved other patios, but there are no walk-ins or unexpected crowds, and Friday and Saturday evenings are for guests 21 and older. We’ve kept the experience intimate on purpose. You can have the energy of a special night out while still having room to breathe.

That balance is what makes the farm different. You have the privacy of your own patio, the freedom to explore, a full bathroom on site, and the thoughtful comforts you’d expect from a beautiful event space—all surrounded by the quiet of the farm. It can be a date night, a celebration, or simply a reason to get everyone together without hosting at home.

The people behind the experience matter to us, too. We work with local people and small businesses wherever we can, including our catering partner. Supporting our neighbors is foundational to how we’re building Happy Hollow, and we want that care to be felt in every visit.

Here’s how it works: choose your Friday or Saturday date, reserve your patio online, and invite your people. We’ll have the space, the charcuterie, the drinks, and dessert ready for you. Brunch is something we hope to offer once the farm is fully open; for now, we’re focused on making these evenings everything they should be.

There are plenty of places in the Tri-State to go out. We built a place where you can truly stay a while.

We’re looking for a dependable contractor / handyman to help us knock out several projects around Happy Hollow Farm.

The immediate work is short-term and project-based — building walls, installing fixtures and equipment, making repairs, finishing spaces, and helping bring a long list of farm improvements to life. For the right person, however, this could very easily grow into steady or full-time employment.

We’re looking for someone who is skilled, reliable, takes pride in their work, and can work independently. We pay well, pay on time, and are open to either hourly compensation or a salaried position depending on experience and what makes sense long-term.

Why Happy Hollow Loves Appalachia?

For everything Appalachia has given us, we believe we owe something back.

We owe it to our communities to invest here. To promote here. To build here. And, most importantly, to tell our own story.

For too long, Appalachia has often been defined by people outside of it. Our communities have been reduced to stereotypes—our challenges talked about more often than our strengths.

It’s time we reclaim our identity.

That starts with building community.

We know that isn’t always easy. We live in a polarized world that constantly gives us reasons to see one another as opponents. But Appalachians have always been strongest when we’ve done the opposite.

We stick together.

We hold each other up. We support the family opening a small business down the road. We tell people about the restaurant we love. We buy from our neighbors. We welcome visitors. We celebrate the person trying something new instead of waiting to see if they fail.

Because every time one of us succeeds, Appalachia becomes a little stronger.

That’s part of what Happy Hollow is about.

Yes, we’re a horse farm. Yes, we’re building a place where people can gather, slow down and experience something different.

But there’s a bigger idea behind it.

We want people to experience what we already know: that there is something extraordinary about this place.

The hills. The forests. The horses. The small towns. The front porches. The people who still wave when you pass them on the road. The sense that life doesn’t always have to move quite so fast.

While the world around us can feel chaotic, we can be the calm in the storm.

We can choose community over division.

We can be proud of where we’re from without pretending everything is perfect. We can acknowledge the things that need to change while fiercely protecting the things worth keeping.

And we can build an Appalachia that doesn’t wait for someone else to decide what it’s worth.

We are a truly special place.

Maybe the first step toward everyone else believing that is for us to start believing it ourselves.

That’s why Happy Hollow loves Appalachia.

The horses are ready. The trails are waiting. And now, booking your lesson at Happy Hollow Riding Academy is easier than ever.

Whether you’re learning to ride for the first time, getting back in the saddle after years away, or looking for something beyond the traditional arena lesson, Happy Hollow offers a different kind of riding experience.

We specialize in gaited horses, trail riding and versatility — with a focus on building confident, capable riders who actually enjoy their time in the saddle.

Individual Lessons — $80/hour
Monthly Program — $275/month for 4 lessons

Beginner and returning adult riders are welcome.

We intentionally keep our academy small, which means student openings are very limited.
