Sunburst Races

The bins are labeled. The shelves are reset. The warehouse is clean again.

One quiet space that just a few weeks ago held the energy, chaos, excitement, and anticipation of the 2026 Sunburst Races.

There’s something about this moment that always feels a little hard to explain. Because on one hand - it’s organized, completed, checked off. Everything is exactly where it should be.

But on the other hand, it’s the end of something that took months of planning, problem-solving, early mornings, late nights, and a whole lot of heart from a whole lot of people.

For a brief window of time, all of these supplies became something bigger than “stuff.” They became finish lines crossed, personal goals reached, first races, comeback stories, PRs, tears, laughter, volunteers cheering, and a community showing up in every possible way.

And now…it’s quiet again.

Still, there’s a different kind of satisfaction in this moment too. Everything put back in its place. A season officially closed. A deep breath before what comes next.

Because even though 2026 is now wrapped up on the shelf, 2027 is already there in the background—slowly starting to take shape.

And we’ll be ready for it.

Huge appreciation post for our Sunburst interns - Jacob, Jack, and Lia. 🧡

Interns step into our world about four weeks before race day, right when things are at their absolute wildest and most chaotic. It’s the stretch where details multiply, timelines tighten, and the “behind-the-scenes” work becomes nonstop. And this group showed up to all of it with positive attitudes, steady energy, and a willingness to jump into absolutely anything we needed.

Jacob, Jack, and Lia took on the unglamorous but essential work that makes race day possible - the kind of tasks most people never see, but nothing happens without. They did it all with no complaints, and often with humor and encouragement that made long days feel lighter.

After packet pickup, they were outside helping to build the finish line chute until 10:30 PM. Then they were back at 3:30 AM for race morning setup – caffeinated and ready to go again, fully committed, and somehow still smiling and asking what they could do next.

That says everything about them.

Bright, hardworking, and genuinely fun to be around - the kind of young adults who make you feel really good about the future. We’re so grateful for the time, effort, and heart they poured into Sunburst this year.

Jacob, Jack, and Lia - thank you for showing up big when it mattered most.

Today, we celebrate the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other - and the incredible things that can happen because of it.

Running challenges us, strengthens us, connects us, and reminds us that we're capable of more than we ever imagined. Whether you're chasing a PR, enjoying a walk/run with friends, training for your next race, or just getting started, every mile has a story.

At Sunburst, we're especially grateful for a community that shows up year after year to move with purpose. Together, you've helped create unforgettable race day memories while supporting the patients and families of Beacon Children's Hospital. 🧡💜
