Assistant Pool Manager
Position Type:
Part-Time (15–25 hours per week)
Starting Wage:
DOE ($17.50 - $19.50)
Reports To:
Recreation Director
The Assistant Pool Manager works under the direction of the Recreation Director and in cooperation with other Assistant Pool Managers. This position is responsible for performing lifeguard duties while supervising daily pool operations and pool staff during assigned shifts. The Assistant Pool Manager is expected to provide leadership, ensure a safe environment, and assist in maintaining efficient pool operations.
-=Minimum Requirements=-
Applicants must:
· Be at least 18 years of age.
· Hold current American Red Cross or StarGuard Lifeguard Certification, including CPR and First Aid, or be willing to obtain all required certifications before starting the job.
· The Snowflake-Taylor Community Pool is able to provide in-house certification courses for qualified applicants who are interested in obtaining the required certifications prior to employment.
· Be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
· Possess strong communication and leadership skills.
· Be dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
-=Essential Duties and Responsibilities=-
The Assistant Pool Manager shall:
1. Set a positive example and demonstrate professionalism for all pool staff.
2. Understand and be able to independently open and close the
pool facility when scheduled.
3. Maintain a safe environment for patrons and employees by enforcing pool rules and safety procedures.
4. Inform the Recreation Director of any incidents, concerns, maintenance issues, or situations requiring attention.
5. Monitor pool water quality daily by performing required chemical testing and making chemical adjustments as needed.
6. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
7. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with patrons, coworkers, and supervisors.
8. Manage conflicts and emergency situations responsibly and professionally. Learn, understand, and implement the facility’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
9. Operate a computer and be willing to learn and use pool management software.
10. Perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, cleaning, moving equipment, and other assigned duties.
11. Perform all lifeguard responsibilities, including surveillance, patron assistance, emergency response, and facility cleanliness.
12. Supervise lifeguards and other pool staff during assigned shifts, ensuring policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
13. Assist with staff training, scheduling needs, and daily operational tasks as assigned by the Recreation Director.
14. Complete reports, incident documentation, and other required records accurately and promptly.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.

· Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Position requires prolonged standing, walking, swimming, bending, reaching, and lifting.
· Must remain alert and capable of responding immediately to emergencies.

Work schedules vary based on operational needs. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
