Back-to-school lunches don’t have to mean sandwiches, chips and packaged snacks every day.

One of my easiest strategies: pack up leftovers while you’re cleaning up dinner. Lunch is basically done before tomorrow even starts.

The video got a little long 😂 so I’ll get into more actual lunch ideas in Part 2.

For now: cook once, eat twice. Your morning self will thank you.

Smoothies might be one of the easiest parenting hacks for busy school mornings.

Fast. Portable. Kids actually like them. And you can pack a ridiculous amount of nutrition into one glass without turning breakfast into a negotiation.

Fruit, protein, healthy fats, fiber—and even some greens if you can sneak ’em past quality control. 😂

Five minutes in the blender and they’re out the door with a breakfast that actually gives them something to run on.

Simple doesn’t have to mean processed.

We somehow figured out how to bring our phones everywhere we go. Now do the same thing with your water bottle.

In the car. At work. Running errands. At the gym. Sitting around the house. Make it automatic.

Hydration doesn’t need to be complicated—you’re just a lot more likely to drink water when it’s actually sitting next to you.

Give your water bottle phone privileges. 📱💧

F*CK MEAL PLANS. 😬

Okay… maybe not meal planning. I’m a huge fan of that.

What I hate is teaching people to blindly follow a piece of paper telling them exactly what to eat.

What happens when you eat out? Travel? Feed your kids? Your schedule changes? Or I’m not around anymore?

My job isn’t to make you good at following instructions. It’s to teach you how to make good decisions on your own.

Learn the principles. Ask questions. Understand WHY.

Think for yourself. Question authority.

If you still need me to tell you exactly what to eat a year from now, I haven’t done my job.

Random thoughts. Or should I say “thoughs”?

I’ve been talking about “dessert for breakfast” in my recent reels, but there’s a lot more to this story than I can fit into 60 seconds.

I took a deeper dive into how America’s breakfast evolved from real food into cereal, muffins, pastries, sweetened coffee drinks and other processed “breakfast foods” — including the role of Big Food, marketing, the old food pyramid and government nutrition policy.

And, more importantly, what starting your day this way can mean for your hunger, energy, cravings and metabolism.

If this topic has made you think twice about what you’re eating in the morning, you’ll probably enjoy this one.

When did coffee become a milkshake?

Some of the most popular Starbucks drinks contain more sugar than many desserts.

Whipped cream. Flavored syrups. Sweet sauces. Cookie crumbles. Caramel drizzle.

And here’s what really concerns me…

These drinks aren’t just marketed to adults. Bright colors, seasonal flavors, and sweet, dessert-like beverages appeal to younger customers too. The earlier we normalize drinking hundreds of calories and large amounts of added sugar, the more those taste preferences can stick.

I’m not saying you should never enjoy a Frappuccino. I enjoy treats too.

I’m saying let’s stop pretending these are “coffee.”

If your drink tastes like melted ice cream, it’s probably closer to dessert than breakfast.

The food industry has become incredibly good at blurring the line between treats and everyday foods. Coffee became dessert. Breakfast became dessert. And somehow, that’s become normal.

Maybe it’s time we start calling these foods and drinks what they really are.

What’s your go-to Starbucks order? ☕👇

At some point, we stopped eating breakfast… and started eating dessert.

Think about it.

Sugary cereals.
Muffins.
Toaster pastries.
Pancakes covered in syrup.
Sweetened yogurt.
Fancy coffee drinks with more sugar than a soda.

If I handed you a slice of cake at 7:00 a.m., you’d probably question my judgment. But swap the cake for a blueberry muffin and suddenly it’s considered a balanced breakfast.

That didn’t happen by accident.

For decades, we’ve been marketed convenience over nutrition, and many of us grew up believing that food coming from a brightly colored box with health claims on the front was the best way to start the day.

The result? Millions of people begin their mornings with a massive sugar hit, followed by the energy crash, cravings, and hunger that keep the cycle going.

I’m not saying you can never enjoy pancakes or a bowl of cereal. I’m saying we should at least be honest about what many of these foods really are.

Try building your breakfast around real food first—protein, healthy fats, fiber, and minimally processed ingredients. Your energy, focus, and appetite will often thank you for it.

Do you think breakfast has become dessert, or am I way off? Let’s hear it. 👇
