Sad news was recently released:

Coach Glenn Sprecher has passed away. He helped coach from about 2008 or 2009 until around 2012. His boys were Ian, Warren (a state placer) and Carson. Glenn fought Alzheimers for 7 years, eventually succumbing to it at the age of 63.

Congratulations and welcome to Matt Bayne as the new boys' head wrestling coach.

Matt's history in wrestling: "I was an assistant coach for 6 years with the Bremerton Blue and Gold wrestling club where all 3 of my kids wrestled. I also coached soccer for the Bremerton soccer club for the last 13 years. I have been involved with CK High School Wrestling for the past 5 years in many different capacities from wrestling parent to most recently volunteer coach".

Matt will be the 5th head coach/defactor head coach in 5 years.

HOF reservations:

HOTEL INFORMATION

The Red Lion Hotel in Yakima is adjacent to the Convention Center and they have a special rate for the clinic setup soon. Mention that you are attending the clinic if you would like to reserve rooms. The hotel does not know the difference between the hall of fame ceremony and the clinic, so just tell them you are attending the clinic. They get confused when you mention HOF. Their phone number is 509-248-5900.

Wrestlers: here's an opportunity to get in some local summer wrestling and jiu jitsu. The wrestling clinician is Ale DeLaPena, Head Coach of Central Kitsap Wrestling. If you've never wrestled, it's an opportunity to try it out with a 14 day free trial.

Come and get to know some teammates you've already wrestled with or will be wrestling with as you transition from middle school to high school. For those new to wrestling, Coach DeLaPena is a three time state champion from eastern Washington and former All Navy Head Wrestling Coach.
