Part 1-Hank was born in Maiden, NC & fell in love with fishing while chasing red breast sunfish with his grandpa on the Ocmulgee River in Georgia. He hooked his first one when barely out of diapers and set the course that he has been on for more than 60 years. It captivated him completely and was all he wanted to do from about 5 years old. He had a highly challenging and tumultuous childhood (hear his story in person on Sept 3 here in Shreveport - details to follow) but with the help of God/friends/fishing he overcame it . When he was 15, his aunt bought him a membership to B.A.S.S. Magazine. Reading this magazine gave him the dream of becoming a professional angler. At just 16 yrs of age, he competed in his very first regional bass tournament . At at age of 22, he decided to go “wide open” and fish professionally in 1976. To be continued….
