Lots of new eyes lately, so we thought we might reintroduce ourselves.

We are Phil and Emily Hays and Gary Moore, a father and daughter/son in law that purchased the old Trinity Heights Christian Academy 3 years ago, with the dream of providing a cost effective and easily accessible sports complex. When we looked around, we saw gaping holes in our area and knew we could provide a solution for those sports, players and teams.

We have fully renovated 2 full sized gymnasiums, that hold 6 volleyball courts and house both local and regional tournaments, as well as a volleyball club. We also have 6 pickleball courts that are available during the daytime hours. Our back gym also houses a Sunday futsal league during the winter.

Outside, in phase two, we’ve worked with local non profits to create multi use fields, that house both soccer and flag football leagues. We have a thousand plus people come through our doors weekly, that number doubles for tournament days.

Phase 3, that’s to come. We still have 25 buildings that need to be brought back to life, or demolished for a different purpose. We’ve patiently waited, and will continue to do so, for the right next step. And we’re excited to see what that is.

We’ve done it all with zero investment from outside entities. Our full time sports clubs have contributed to areas that benefit their athletes and club. But we have done it all ourselves. Some months we break even; most months we do not. We knew the on-ramp to this project would be long, and we were betting on the long game, as we believe in the power of our community.

What has been frustrating has been the local governments response to our project. We faced hurdles before opening because of antiquated MOC guidelines. We took a 25 acre property that was housing a vagrant population and brought it back to life, yet we almost couldn’t open because we didn’t have the correct spacing of trees around the exterior of the property. We’ve had conversations with every single sports related government entity. All have passed on good feelings and wishes but none have partnered in any way. My dad has spent hours drafting letters and emails and visits to various local politicians, not to ask for financial partnership, but to remind people we are here and doing the hard work. Once again, the response, if any has come, has been flaky at best.

How can you help? Reach out with help, and then follow through. We all have full time jobs outside of this, and it’s HARD. You see a need? Instead of complaining, reach out with a solution and then follow through to do it. We are SO thankful for those that have stepped up. People have mowed, laid flooring, cleaned out old concession stands, mopped bathrooms and fixed plumbing. The joys of home ownership right??

We also have a non profit foundation, and we would happily accept donations to help us continue to reach the community. Our athletes- diverse, from every background and community in our city. Some can easily write a check, some volunteer to mow to cut down their team fees.

We’re also looking for a part time manager for the facilities. So you can DM a resume if you’re interested.

God was clear that we had to step out of the boat in the middle of a storm. And He has been faithful. We’re glad you’re here. Our DM’s are wide open and we’ll answer any questions you might have.

We’re excited to have Cumbre Alta soccer Bossier City as a partner at North Port Sports. Their club showed up BIG today to help get the fields ready for their first days of training! Please welcome them to our community.
