Councilman Joe Impastato & the Parish Council recognized Leonidas “Leo” Ahrens for his outstanding achievements in BMX racing, academics, and representation of BMX Ministries and Team USA.

Since he was seven years old, Leo has excelled at BMX Racing - now competing as a 12-Year-Old Expert Rider in both the Class and Cruiser divisions, earning the prestigious First Place Louisiana State Plate in both categories and achieving the title of 2026 Louisiana State Champion for Class and Cruiser BMX Racing!

Leo achieved another extraordinary milestone by qualifying for the 2026 Team USA Challenge Team after placing second in the final World Challenge Qualifier Race held in Texas, securing his place among only sixteen boys selected to represent Team USA at the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championship in Brisbane, Australia!

We wish Leo best wishes for an outstanding performance at the upcoming 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championship in Brisbane, Australia!
