High Desert Bujustu

3rd annual tournament that we went to. First time competing for a couple of the students. This was a tae kwon do tournament which is very much different than what I teach but we had a lot of interest in Bujutsu from their students and Black Belts. We came home with a number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals. Great job kids, your hard work and discipline paid off. A huge shout out to the parents and family for supporting the kids.

Working on our Atemi Waza techniques during class. Atemi Waza refers to the body striking techniques in traditional Japanese Jujutsu martial arts, aimed at vital points to incapacitate an opponent or create an opening for throws or joint lock techniques. We are working on our first 9 techniques.

Today I was reminded by a fellow martial artist that we’re not all alike. Emotion can be a very powerful tool but also a deadly trap. Don’t let fear, anger, arrogance, pride lead you down the wrong path. Embrace compassion, generosity, confidence and humility. Live and train for the love it not for selfish desires…. Osu.

We took 5 students to the ITA Tae kwon do tournament in Twin Falls on Saturday. While we aren’t a Tae Kwon Do dojo we like to get out, show our forms and meet other martial artists. I’m so proud of the kids, for never having competed they did great! I got a lot of compliments from other students, parents and dojo’s on our kids. Also,a huge shout out to the parents for supporting the kids and our dojo, without you we couldn’t have succeeded. Well done, Osu!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
