Congratulations to Jacob Pennington for winning the 2026 River Bend YMCA Golf Club Championship this weekend. Pennington shot 5 under par on the final nine holes to distance himself from the field. Lance Ashley took runner-up honors.

Congratulations to Minlin Ou for her T-5 finish in the 7th Mimosa Hills Junior Girls Invitational Championship this weekend with rounds of 77-72-149. Minlin was the youngest competitor in the field. Many thanks to the CGA for directing this event and to Mimosa Hills Country Club staff for hosting the girls and boys divisions! Congratulations to all the winners and top 5s!

Congratulations to our Cleveland County/Upstate PGA Jr. League All Star Team who shot 18 under par today at the Grandover Resort East Course to finish runner-up to the McGregor Downs/Twelve Oaks Team at 30 under par!
The top two teams advance to the regions at Indian Hills Golf Course in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on September 25-27.

Let’s all congratulate Minlin Ou for her ninth place finish in the US Kids World Championship Age 12 Girls at Pinehurst #5 Course this week. Minlin finished at three under par with rounds of 71-71-71=213.

Update: Minlin Ou is tied for 12th after day two at 2 under par. 71-71=142.

Minlin Ou of Shelby, NC posted an opening round of one under par 71 on Pinehurst #5 today in the US Kids World Championship today! Join me in wishing her the best during this highly competitive event. She is competing in the Girls Age 12 Division. She is in the top ten at the time of this post.

Congratulations to Jack Brown for winning the Boys 16-18 Division and the Overall Championship in the 50th Annual Dr. A. Mickey Church Junior Golf Tournament at River Bend YMCA Golf Course this week! Brown shot rounds of 70-68 to finish the event at 6 under par. Noah Wright was Runner-up with rounds of 75 and 70.
