Construction for the Lee Road Complete Streets Project has begun. The Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building entrance at Lee Road will be closed during the beginning stage of the project. Access to the building will only be open from Chagrin Blvd. at the Chelton Road intersection. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

Phase 1 of the Lee Road Complete Street construction project starts soon with sewer and water utility work on Lee Rd. south of Van Aken Blvd. This phase is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2026.

Two-way traffic will be maintained but there will be lane closures as follows:

▶️ September-November: One lane of traffic in each direction on Lee Rd. between Van Aken Blvd. eastbound and Lomond Blvd.
▶️ November-December: One lane of traffic in each direction on Lee Rd. between Lomond Blvd. and Invermere Ave. in Cleveland.
▶️ The Lee Rd. entrance to Shaker Main Library will be closed; please enter off Chagrin Blvd.
▶️ The left turning lane into the Heinen's parking lot on Lee Rd. southbound will remain open.

Youth Fall Basketball is back! 🏀

Our youth basketball programs give players the opportunity to learn and strengthen fundamental skills while gaining a better understanding of the game. Participants will work on basketball fundamentals, game concepts, teamwork, and sportsmanship through instruction, skill development, and game play.

For those participating in our recreational league, players will be evaluated and placed on teams, with weekly practices and Saturday games throughout the season.

Doggie Dip is back! 🐾

Before we say goodbye to pool season, it’s time to let the pups take over! Join us and our partners on Saturday, September 12, from 10 am to 1 pm at Thornton Park Pool for our annual Doggie Dip event!

Your four-legged friends can splash, swim and enjoy the pool in unheated, unchlorinated water while you connect with some great local pet organizations and businesses. Please remember, only dogs are permitted in the water for safety reasons.

Let's make one last splash this Labor Day! Join us at Thornton Park Pool on Monday, September 7 from 1–5 PM for one last summer celebration! You'll hear music from our DJ and get one last chance to dunk a lifeguard in our dunk tank.

Grab your swimsuits, bring the family, and spend Labor Day poolside.
