Sedona, we're thinking of you. ❤️
The Pocket Fire has been burning about 7 miles north of town since June 19. The good news: containment is climbing — nearly 50% as of this week — thanks to more than 1,200 firefighters and support personnel working around the clock in some seriously unforgiving canyon terrain.
To the crews on the line, the families in SET zones, and every local navigating smoke, closures, and a hard holiday weekend: this community runs deep, and we're with you.
How you can help:
🔥 Stay informed & share official info — InciWeb (search "Pocket Fire") and coconino.az.gov/pocketfire have current updates, closures, and evacuation maps.
🏔️ Respect closures — Sections of SR 89A and parts of the Coconino National Forest are closed. Give the crews room to work. And never fly drones near the fire — if you fly, they can't.
🏨 Support Sedona businesses — The fire hit during peak season, and local shops, restaurants, and lodges are feeling it. Buy a gift card, book a fall trip, or order from your favorite Sedona shop online.
❤️ Give if you can — The American Red Cross has been sheltering evacuees locally. Donations to redcross.org support that work.
The red rocks will still be here. The trails will still be here. And come February, we'll all be back on them together — stronger for it.
