Is a club of local bass fisherman concentrating on lakes of Highlands and Polk counties.

09/12/2026

Today we completed our 8th stop of the season out on Lake Istokpoga. Most of the teams found the five fish limit but none of the lakes big ones decided to play today. It did end up being a father son kind of day with the team of Buckholdt and Buckholdt taking top honors at 13 pounds 10 ounces. Second place was Peck and Peck with 11 pounds 14 ounces and rounding out the top three was the duo of Nguyen and Nguyen with 11 pounds 3 ounces. Big bass of the day was caught by J. Sweat weighing 4 pounds 8 ounces. Congratulations to our winners! We wrap up our regular season on Crooked Lake next month..see yall there!

Attention club members fishing tomorrow on Istokpoga. Google has sunrise at 7:08 am that puts the captains meeting/boat draw at 6:38AM. Please be on the water and ready accordingly. See everyone in the morning!

Tonight we held the final Wednesday evening open in Highlands county. We wrapped up the year on Lake Istokpoga. As has been the normal recently, the storms stayed hidden right until takeoff time. The first 20 minutes of the evening was quite the storm. After that it was another beautiful evening on the water. The fish didn’t cooperate for most but one person was able to land some nice fish. T. Phillips came to the weigh in with a three fish limit weighing 13 pounds 12 ounces. His bag was anchored by the big bass of the evening weighing 7 pounds. Second place was claimed by the team of Turner and Turner with 7 pounds 14 ounces. Rounding out the top three was the duo of Sebring and Sebring at 4 pounds 14 ounces. Congratulations to the winners and a huge thank you to everyone that participated this summer!

The Highlands County Wednesday Night Open is set for tomorrow! Come join the action! Please note the changes for this event as this will be the last one of the year.

When: Wednesday 9/9/26
Time: 5:00pm-8:00pm
Place: Lake Istokpoga out of Istokpoga Park
No prefishing or scouting after 4:30pm Wed.
Boat takeoff draw will occur at 4:55pm
Cost: $40/boat..$5 of that goes to big bass pot
Payout:
Less then 10 boats- winner take all minus big
bass pot.

10-15 boats- 1st- 75% 2nd- 25% 3rd-$40

16 or more boats- we pay as per our club rules.
1st- 60% 2nd- 25% 3rd- 15%

3 fish limit.
Boat must have working live well.
Working running lights needed as we will be coming in after sundown at times. Club rules for any rulings.

Tonight’s Wednesday evening open was held out on a rainy Lake Jackson. One team didn’t let the conditions slow them down. The duo of Cole Feickert and Tim Harper came in with a three fish limit that totaled 9 pounds. Their bag was anchored by the big bass of the evening weighing 3 pounds 8 ounces. Congratulations to them on a great job!
In two weeks we will conclude the Wednesday evening open series for this year due to loss of daylight. We will be out on Lake Istokpoga. Thank you to everyone that has participated over the summer!

Tonight’s Highlands county Wednesday evening open was held out on Lake Apthorp. The light breeze made for a nice evening on the water. The fish did not feel the same and didn’t cooperate much with our anglers. Leading the field with a 3 fish limit totaling a whopping 6 pounds 10 ounces Was the team of Carson Yero and Dane Spires. Their 3 pound 6 ounce kicker took big fish honors and completed the full sweep of the money! Congratulations fellas! Tonight’s winners chose Lake Jackson for the next Wednesday evening open in 2 weeks. Thank you to those that came out!!

Today we resumed our 2026 season out on Lake Okeechobee. With shallow water conditions on the lake most opted to keep it in the river as we launched from Scott Driver park. As always there was that one team that unlocked the code. Today that team was Finn Taylor and Tanner Seabolt. They brought in a five fish limit that weighed 24 pounds 2 ounces! Taking the second place prize was the father/son team of Peck and Peck with 14 pounds 14 ounces. Rounding out the top 3 was the duo of Newsome and Foster with 14 pounds 8 ounces. They had today’s big bass of the day weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces. Taking the prize money in a tiebreaker. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone that came and participated. We now have 2 tournaments left before the Classic and several teams will still have a shot at the team of the year title. Stay tuned as we head to the home waters of Lake Istokpoga next month!
