Indian River County Shooting Range Do it all! We are located just a mile east of I-95 at Exit 156. For the shotgun enthusiasts, the range sports a 5-stand sporting clay range.

Indian River County Shooting Range is a public 318-acre facility that features a Rifle Range, Pistol Range, 5 Stand, Airgun Range, Archery Field, Archery Course, Sporting Clays, S***t, and Trap! Our public shooting range has a separate range for rifle and pistol with 35 pistol stations and 29 rifle stations. The pistol range provides 7, 15, 25 yard shooting and the rifle range provides 50 and 100

yard range targets and two 200 yard firing positions. Our NEW clay target facility offering 3 combination S***t and Trap Fields, Crazy Quail field and a 15 station walk through Sporting Clays Course. The range is equipped to make just about any gun/hunting enthusiast excited with our air rifle and pellet gun target facility, archery range and even a stocked pond to catch a large mouth bass and more. The only catch about the pond is you MUST be accompanied with a child. Make it a family affair! We host FWC Hunter’s Education Classes and several safety classes taught by our staff. Today, we remember. 🇺🇸

Indian River County Public Shooting Range honors the victims of September 11, 2001, and all whose lives were forever changed by that day.

We remember the 2,977 lives taken on September 11, 2001, and the countless others touched by loss. We honor the courage of the first responders, military personnel, and ordinary Americans who ran toward danger. We honor the families who bore an unbearable loss, the survivors who carry those memories still, and those who later lost their lives to 9/11-related illness.

September 11 is a day our nation — and our county — will never forget. Today, we unite to reflect and pay our respects to all who were lost and all who were left to carry it forward.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Take your first step into the lifelong sport of archery with Archery 101 at the Indian River County Public Shooting Range!

This hands-on, 2-hour beginner course will introduce participants to the fundamentals of archery, including equipment, safety, shooting discipline, and basic techniques such as stance, nocking, drawing, and releasing.

Youth ages 12–15 must have a parent or guardian remain at the range.

Gun Storage Check Week | A Reminder That Safety Is Year-Round

Gun safety doesn’t stop when you leave the range. Gun Storage Check Week serves as an important reminder to review your firearm storage practices and make sure fi****ms are secured safely and responsibly.

Proper storage can help prevent accidents, theft, and unwanted access—simple steps that can protect families, prevent injuries, and help save lives. Fi****ms should be stored unloaded, securely locked, and separate from ammunition, in a cool, dry location.

The Indian River County Public Shooting Range hosts monthly firearm safety courses that cover safe storage practices and other important aspects of responsible firearm ownership.

We are also proud to support the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and its commitment to promoting firearm safety, responsible ownership, and safe participation in the shooting sports.

Celebrating 10 Years of Community & Connection

We’re incredibly grateful to Armed Women of America for recognizing our team as part of their 10th Anniversary celebration.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming their members to our range, supporting their time together, and watching their organization continue to grow. Their dedication to education, confidence, and community is something we truly appreciate.

This past weekend, their members presented us with a certificate of appreciation and a heartfelt card signed by the group. These thoughtful gestures mean a great deal to our team, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to be part of their journey.

Wildlife Wednesday: Protecting the Armored Knight! 🦔

Our trail cameras recently caught this little armored knight making its rounds at the Indian River County Public Shooting Range!

With its tough outer shell and curious nature, the nine-banded armadillo is a true Florida original. Fun Fact: Armadillos can hold their breath for up to six minutes, allowing them to cross streams and even walk along the bottom of shallow water!

Wildlife like this is a reminder that our conservation efforts extend far beyond the trails. We're proud to protect the wild spaces that provide a home for Florida's incredible wildlife.

🐾 Wildlife Wednesday | Coyote on the Move 🌿

Caught on our trail camera! This curious coyote was recently spotted exploring the natural areas surrounding the Indian River County Public Shooting Range. While visitors come to enjoy the range, the surrounding habitat is also home to a wide variety of Florida wildlife that thrives in these protected landscapes.

Fun Fact: Coyotes are incredibly adaptable animals and can communicate using a variety of sounds—including howls, yips, barks, and whines. Their group "howls" can make it sound like there are far more coyotes than there actually are, helping them defend their territory without confrontation.

Remember, if you encounter wildlife during your outdoor adventures, admire it from a safe distance and help us keep these natural spaces wild.

Whether you're picking up a bow for the very first time or looking to build a solid foundation, Archery 101 is the perfect place to start!

Join us on Sunday, July 26 for this hands-on, 2-hour beginner course led by Certified USA Archery Instructor Jim Zell. You'll learn:

Archery safety and range etiquette
Proper stance, nocking, drawing, and releasing
Equipment basics and shooting techniques
Practice on stationary targets

The best part? All equipment is provided, so just bring yourself and get ready to learn a new skill!
