Hyrox 2026 event was a highlight of this year for us, thank you to everyone who showed up and participated (espcially the ones on the sidelines cheering on ! ). This was an intro into what a real hyrox event is like and we wanted our members and non members to get a feel for it. Here’s the full rundown of what a HYROX is:

HYROX is often described as the “Marathon of Fitness” because it bridges the gap between traditional endurance running and gym-based functional strength.

This fitness event combines 8 rounds of 1 km running with 8 distinct functional workout stations. The event demands a blend of cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and pacing to manage fatigue throughout the event.

The specific workouts and movements are completed in this exact order:
1 km Run

SkiErg (1000m): Simulates cross-country skiing, testing upper-body and core endurance by pulling a weighted cable downward.

1 km Run

Sled Push (50m): Participants push a heavy metal sled across an indoor turf. This station tests leg and core power. (Weights vary by division, e.g., 152 kg total for the Men’s Open).

1 km Run

Sled Pull (50m): Participants pull the sled backward using a rope using a hand-over-hand, seated or squatting motion.

1 km Run

Burpee Broad Jumps (80m): A grueling combination of a standard burpee (chest touching the floor) and a forward jumping motion.

1 km Run

Rowing (1000m): Uses a standard Concept2 rowing machine, engaging the entire posterior chain.

1 km Run

Farmer’s Carry (200m): Participants carry two heavy kettlebells (e.g., 2×24 kg for Men’s Open) over a set distance to challenge grip strength and posture.

1 km Run

Sandbag Lunges (100m): Walking lunges while holding a sandbag on the shoulders or back, testing balance and lower-body endurance.

1 km Run

Wall Balls (100 reps): A finisher movement involving a deep squat into a throw, propelling a medicine ball (e.g., 6 kg for Women, 9 kg for Men) against an overhead target.
