We work side-by-side with our neighbors throughout King and south Snohomish counties to help kids and families thrive – and to apply their positive behaviors at home, school, the workplace and beyond.

This July 4th, we're celebrating a year of milestones.

As our nation marks 250 years, the YMCA of Greater Seattle is celebrating 150 years of serving communities across the Puget Sound region.

For generations, the Y has been a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can find connection, support, and opportunities to grow. Together, we've built stronger communities by showing up for one another and creating spaces where everyone belongs.

As you celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors this holiday weekend, we hope you find moments of joy, connection, and community.

Happy July 4th from all of us at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. ❤️🤍️💙

This Juneteenth, our President & CEO Loria Yeadon reflects on the gap between a promise made and a promise kept, and on how that history shapes the Y's work today.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. That gap is the heart of this holiday, and a reminder that freedom is rarely delivered all at once.

Read Loria's full op-ed, running this week in The Seattle Medium, on the connection between Juneteenth, our 150 years of service, and collaborations such as Cinematique, which surrounds foster and underserved families with resources, supports, and a sense of belonging.
